In 1985, in the classroom of Dalian Polytechnic University, 30 young people from all over the country first came into contact with a brand-new subject -- clothing specialty.

30 years later, the clothing Institute of Dalian Polytechnic University is full of peach and plum.

From the development of a single discipline to a wide range of colleges and universities, many famous designers and industry elites have come out of this area. The clothing Institute has become a miniature of the development of Chinese clothing science, and has become the highland of the trend of the times and the design of northern clothing.

A new discipline to lead academic frontiers

As early as 1958, Dalian Light Industry Institute was one of the 4 light industry colleges in China. In March 2007, it was renamed Dalian Polytechnic University. It became one of the leading institutions of higher learning in 30 years ago.

Perhaps no discipline has such a deep connection with a city. Once upon a time, the light industrial products produced in Dalian, such as washing machines, watches and so on, have been well known throughout the country, and people have called Dalian the "clothing city".

At present, Dalian Institute of technology Clothing Institute ranks the top five in the country.

In 2003, the right to grant master's degrees was obtained from two disciplines, namely, design art, fashion design and engineering.

In 2006, the Institute of clothing was established, and in 2009, it was granted the right to grant the master of Arts (MFA) degree.

In 2013, the discipline of clothing was approved by the Ministry of education.

Today, the clothing Institute has 4 undergraduate specialties in clothing and costume design, costume design and engineering, performance and photography. Among them, clothing and clothing design major has 8 directions, namely, fashion art design, women's wear design, men's wear design, image design, display design, clothing marketing, knitting design and jewelry design, and has 3 master's degree conferring powers in textile science and engineering, design and fine arts.

The Institute has 77 teachers, including 8 professors, 18 associate professors, and 1800 students, of whom 100 are graduate students.

From the new discipline of 30 people to the full range of professional colleges, the course of 30 years has been solid.

The results won more than ten national honors.

For a discipline, the biggest achievement is reflected in scientific research ability and personnel training. In the past 30 years, the clothing Institute of Dalian Polytechnic University has made remarkable achievements in the national garment industry.

From 2006 to now, the clothing Institute has won more than 10 national honors and a number of provincial honors.

The college teachers have won many honors from provincial teachers, provincial professional leaders, hundreds of outstanding science and technology workers in Liaoning, the most influential tutors in China's model industry, Liaoning fashion promotion figures in the fashion industry, excellent young backbone teachers in Liaoning, ten top designers in Liaoning, ten top garment designers in Liaoning, and ten top technical elites in Liaoning.

Celebrating colorful activities for 30 years

In the morning of September 20th, a grand signing ceremony was held at Dalian Polytechnic University. Dayang group injected 10 million of the Dalian clothing Museum, and the 5000 square meter museum is expected to be completed in the second half of next year at the Industrial University.

Relying on the platform of this year's Expo, the Dalian Institute of technology clothing industry held a series of colorful activities. From September 19th to 23, it launched a number of thematic activities such as independent fashion designers' exhibition, teachers and students' art design exhibition, fashion designer and brand design release, International Symposium and so on.

On September 19th -23, "30th anniversary Invitational Exhibition of teachers and students from Academy of art and design, Dalian Institute of technology" was exhibited at the exhibition hall of the school of art and design.

There are many masters in the field of art design: Lu Yun Ting, who graduated from Dalian Light Industry Institute in 1989. He is a member of the Youth Federation of the Ministry of culture in People's Republic of China. He is a national first class artist, a member of the Chinese Artists Association, and a chairman of Tongjiang City Association of Heilongjiang. Zhao is a graduate of Dalian Light Industry Institute, a free painter, Dean of the art gallery of Heilongjiang, a visiting professor of the Heilongjiang Institute of nationalities, and has won the title of "the ten most influential artists in China".
