The new standard has set up a pitional period of two years. The products that are manufactured before June 1, 2016 and meet the requirements of relevant standards are allowed to continue to be sold in the market. Since June 1, 2018, all relevant products in the market must meet the requirements of this standard.

The new standard mainly has the following three characteristics:

First, we should further standardize the safety technology requirements.

In terms of fabric, baby textile products are required.

In addition to meeting the requirements of formaldehyde content, pH value, color fastness, odor and decomposable carcinogenic aromatic amine dyes, the fabrics used for lining, lining and accessories must also meet new safety technology items including wet fastness to rubbing fastness, heavy metal lead and cadmium content, two phthalate esters (6 plasticizers) and combustion performance.

In addition, the technical requirements for fiber filler, feather and feather stuffing and other fillers are specified in detail.

As for accessories, the accessories used for baby textile products should not have sharp sharp edges and sharp edges, and the tensile strength of all kinds of attachments that may be nipped by infants should meet the relevant technical specifications.

In addition to the above requirements, the new standard also stipulates that no sharp needles should be used or retained in the packaging of baby textile products. The wearing labels for infant clothing should be placed in direct contact with the skin. Other requirements for non-woven accessories should comply with relevant national regulations and mandatory standards.

Two, the requirements are fully in line with international standards.

The new standard has been established for 8 years. As the first mandatory standard for children's textile products in China, it has fully absorbed and used the technical regulations and requirements of the developed countries on the safety of baby textile products, and its strictness has been equal to or even surpassed that of the developed countries.

Among them, the unreasonable design of rope, machinery and so on has filled the blank of our standard. In addition, 6 plasticizers and the limit requirements for 2 kinds of heavy metals, such as lead and cadmium, have been stricter than the relevant standards in the United States. The requirements for rope and chemical safety have also surpassed the relevant national standards of Japan and Korea.

It can be seen that once the new regulations are implemented, the overall quality level of our baby textile products will be greatly improved.

The three is the scope of application specifically for baby products.

Before the implementation of the new standard, the main applicable standard of China's textile products is the national basic safety technical specification for textile products (GB18401-2010), which is applicable to the production, sale, use and household textile products of domestic products, including adult, infant and child textile products.

In contrast, the new standard is specifically targeted at infants and children's textile products sold in our country, and the object of application is more specific and clearer.

The requirements of the new criteria for assessment and classification also focus more on infant safety.

For example, the classification of safety technology can be divided into three categories: A, B and C. Infants and young children's textile products should be accords with class a requirements and request for labeling.
