He stressed that the Hongkong market has its own uniqueness, not to occupy the "wearing" corner, eating, drinking, living and traveling are all areas worthy of further development, and it can also make full use of Hongkong's advantages in culture and education.
Mai Hui, chairman of the Hongkong Retail Management Association, said that the tariff rate decreased by an average of more than 50% this year, which is two to 30% higher than before.
She pointed out that the reduction of tariffs on daily products in the mainland will bring the mainland related products closer to the price of Hongkong, believing that this will have a certain impact on the number of mainland visitors, especially the purchase of daily necessities in Hong Kong and passengers from southern cities.
Mai also points out that the consumption patterns and capabilities of mainland tourists in recent years have changed, and that some of them are younger than before, and the goods they consume are different from those in the past.
At the same time, more tourists from non tier cities come to Hong Kong, and their spending power is relatively low.
She believes that for mainland customers, shopping in Hong Kong is still attractive because Hong Kong's retail products are diverse and concentrated, efficient and can also play in Hong Kong.
