Amazon Tests Bicycle One Hour Delivery Service In New York

According to reports, as the latest move to counter retailers of physical stores,

A plan is being tested to deliver the goods by bicycle messenger in New York within an hour.

According to people familiar with the matter, the new service is called Amazon Prime Now, which mimics the direct shopping mode in the physical store and delivers part of the goods to the customers in Manhattan within an hour or two hours.

One afternoon, the messenger working for Amazon continued to walk out of the back door of a building on West 34 street.

The building is close to Amazon The Empire State Building, which has just signed a 17 year lease.

According to people familiar with the matter, Amason has been testing time for at least three fast service couriers.

In the test session, the messenger will get an address and complete the cycle to the designated place within the specified time.

Once arrived, the messenger will be asked to take a picture of the building's address and return to the first floor of the Amazon building.

The Amazon building is referred to as "base" by bicycle messengers.

In the "base", Amazon provides messengers with entertainment facilities such as billiards, pools, air hockey, and so on, for messengers to relax at delivery intervals.

The messenger has a salary of $15 per hour, and rounds every 8 hours.

The test of Amazon Prime Now marks the first time that Amazon has entered the field of ultra fast delivery in the US.

The service name shows that this may be another welfare offered by Amazon to encourage shoppers to sign Prime members.
