Experts And Scholars From Both Sides Of The Taiwan Strait Gather To Discuss The Similarities And Differences Of Labor Laws Between Mainland And Taiwan

The annual symposium of the Fujian Provincial Social Sciences 2014 and the theme forum of the Fifth Annual Academic Conference of Xiamen social sciences were held in the Federation of trade unions of our city. The leaders of the Fujian Provincial Federation of Social Sciences, the Fujian Academy of Social Sciences, the Fujian Federation of trade unions, the Xiamen City Federation of trade unions, the Xiamen Social Development Research Association, the entrepreneurs and trade union directors of Taiwan and annex, and some 150 experts and scholars from the two sides of the Taiwan Straits participated in the forum.

The theme of this annual meeting is "strengthening trade union construction and deepening cross-strait exchanges". In line with the "Dongfeng" of the social science popularization week of Fujian province and the tenth social science popularization week of Xiamen in 2014, experts and scholars from both sides of the Straits on labor relations and labor movement have been invited to discuss and exchange topics on trade union theory, staff culture and labor law on both sides of the Straits, and explore new ways and ways to deepen exchanges and cooperation between the two sides.

At the opening ceremony of the forum, Lin Bingwu, Secretary General of the Fujian Provincial Federation of Social Sciences, said in his speech that at present, the cross straits relations have entered a new stage of consolidation and further development. The trade unions and the workers' associations across the Straits are important driving forces for the peaceful development of cross-strait relations. Efforts to promote common prosperity on both sides of the Strait are in line with the two sides' economic prosperity.

Vital interests are the common expectations of trade unions and workers in both sides of the Straits.

As one of the organizers, Zhou Min, Secretary of the Xiamen Municipal Social Science Association Party group, said that as a window city for cross-strait exchanges, Xiamen is currently promoting the construction of "beautiful Xiamen" in an all-round way, and is also actively developing the integration of compatriots on both sides of the Straits, and building the most compact region and two Shore Economic and trade cooperation across the Straits.

The most active platform, the most convenient access between the two sides of the Straits and the warmest home of the compatriots on both sides of the Straits.

Xiamen and Taiwan are separated by a narrow strip of water. The trade union of Xiamen and Taiwan should innovate and display their pragmatic exchanges and cooperation. The exhibition will play an active role in deepening the economic, cultural, technological and educational cooperation in many areas.

He reviewed the research and Discussion on the cross strait labor and capital law comparative study conducted by experts and scholars in recent years, "the development of a harmonious and stable new husband relationship" and "creating a win-win situation of labor and capital". In October, the traditional manuscript of comparative study on labor and capital law between the two sides of the Straits was published in Taiwan. In early 2015, the simplified version will also be published in mainland China. These cross-strait labor law cooperation research projects and achievements will provide cutting-edge academic value reference and results application for the future labor law theory and practice across the Straits.

After a brief and concise opening ceremony, 7 experts and scholars from across the Straits exchanged speeches about the practice of cross-strait trade unions, the similarities and differences of labor laws, the culture of enterprise employees and the harmonious labor relations.
