Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) 4 Edition New Standard Promulgated

< p > the International Working Group on organic textile standards (GOTS) announced recently that the 4 edition of the global recognized standard for qualified organic and natural fiber processing textiles was promulgated.

The new version retains the core provisions of GOTS, for example, the qualified organic fiber content is not less than 70%, and the prohibition of the use of genetically modified, nano technology and carcinogenic substances, the standard of conventional addition of fiber material has been revised.

< p > modification includes regenerative synthetic fiber up to 30%, but the prerequisite is that these fibers are environmentally friendly and certified.

At present, GOTS thinks that it is no longer reasonable to pay attention to the additional fiber content in natural fibers.

Other modifications include the prohibition of the use of pure polyester and Angola rabbit hair.

New standards are applied to specific product categories, such as < a href= "http://www.91se91.com/news/index_c.asp > > textile > /a > personal care products or mattresses.

< p > GOTS social standard is based on the key convention of ILO, including the prohibition of the use of < a href= "http://www.91se91.com/news/index_c.asp" > child labour < /a >.

The standard further specifies the audit scope for the auditors to intervene during the on-site inspection, clearly stipulates its operation process and identification methods.

< p > during the examination of < a href= "http://www.91se91.com/news/index_c.asp" > GOTS < /a > the certification must be: fair dress Foundation (FWF), social responsibility standard 8000 (SA800), international social responsibility certification organization (WRAP) and commercial social standard identification (BSCI).

Fire training and evacuation drills are added to the existing health and safety training requirements.

The date of the implementation of the new standard for enterprises with P GOTS certification is a year after the announcement.

< p > it is reported that in 2012, of the 62 countries in the world, more than 3000 brands were certified by GOTS, and the number of brands authorized in 2013 reached 3085.

The top 5 countries of GOTS certification are India, Turkey, Germany, China and Korea.
