According to statistics, from January to August, before the entry of WTO, the Fujian inspection and Quarantine Bureau inspected the 1013 batch of products exported to Russia, such as textiles and garments, valued at 43 million 380 thousand and 400 US dollars, up 3.26% and -10.8% respectively.

From September 1st to October 21st after Russia's accession to the WTO, the Fujian inspection and Quarantine Bureau exported 209 batches of Russian textile and clothing products, valued at US $7 million 914 thousand and 200, representing an increase of 96.23% and 98.48% compared to the same period last year, an increase far exceeding the previous level.

This shows that Russia's accession to the WTO led to a significant increase in Fujian's export of Russian textile and clothing.

Fujian Province Textile and garment export base chamber of Commerce said that nearly 200 enterprises in Fujian Province set up offices in Russia to open up the Russian market.

In recent years, the income of Russian residents has been increasing, and the demand for medium and top grade garments has increased rapidly. The brand products of Fujian province have great competitive advantages. Therefore, it is suggested that Fujian make full use of the new opportunities of Russia's accession to the WTO tariff reduction and the reduction of export costs of enterprises, accelerate the implementation of brand strategy, further develop the Russian market, and further increase the export of textile and clothing products to Russia.

It is learned that in order to help Fujian textile and garment enterprises to further explore the Russian market, Fujian plans to organize a delegation to visit Russia at the end of this month.
