All the production of Chinese garment factories has caused a great stir in the local industry.

Although the design is undertaken by Ralph Lauren, a famous American brand, the absence of "made in the United States" costume on the international stage has made textile and apparel people feel sorry.

To speed up the recovery of the US economy, the purchase of textiles made in the United States has been put on the agenda in the voice of manufacturing returning to the United States.

At the textile and garment industry procurement conference held in Las Vegas recently, the topic of "American made clothing and household products procurement strategy" launched by Karen Kane became the focus of the seminar.

Kane said that although the United States government advocated the re establishment of the textile and garment manufacturing system, but in the current era of "price is king" and "fast fashion" has become the characteristics of the consumer market, the United States clothing companies that can afford the production of medium and high grade products can not really mobilize the enthusiasm for the production of low and medium end products.

Influenced by many other factors, the rebuilding of American manufacturing industry, especially the textile and garment industry, is not easy.

The government wants to revive the manufacturing industry.

At present, US President Obama has begun to consider rebuilding the manufacturing industry in the United States, and strongly supports the proposal made by the Democratic Party of the house of representatives in the United States to make a return.

He also believes that the recovery of consumer demand is also conducive to the reconstruction of the US manufacturing industry.

The industry pointed out that if the voice and momentum of "made in America" in a few years' time are still strong, most of the factories that will stop production in the US will cater to the market demand and will be willing to work again.

The United States is one of the most important clothing consumer markets in the world, but its domestic apparel industry does not match its consumption demand.

Economists pointed out that the current clothing consumption and production scale in the United States form a very unequal relationship.

At the end of World War II, the United States had the largest garment manufacturing industry in the world, but today the production of domestic enterprises in the United States can only meet 3% of the market demand.

From a global perspective, no country has more than 97% clothing imports.

The market share of locally manufactured American textile and apparel products needs to be improved.

Those who support the US rebuilding industry believe that this will create more job opportunities, especially in the weak economy.

Julia Hughes Hughes, President of the USA-ITA, thinks that the government's reconstruction policy is "realistic", because a large number of American immigrants who lack advanced skills will get jobs in the Julia.

Hughes said that rebuilding the American clothing industry has been supported by the US government, industry organizations, local organizations in Losangeles and New York.

At the procurement meeting, Hughes put forward a plan to establish a database of textile clothing manufacturers and suppliers in the United States to help us companies reach agreements with their partners in this field and to help retailers to buy American products.

Textile industry is on the way back.

The problem that everyone can not avoid is that most of the fabric used in the United States for high-end clothing is dependent on imports.

Hughes said that due to the lack of textile yarns and fabrics, the current situation of most clothing imports in the United States will not change in the short term.

Moreover, decades of "restricted quotas and high tax rates" in the United States, as well as clothing buyers' favour of low labor cost producers, forced many local manufacturers to become accustomed to turning to overseas markets.

Kane said that although American companies have the ability to complete processes such as tailoring and sewing in China, it is not enough for manufacturers to quickly realize short cycle production modes including raw material procurement, investment planning, and even to satisfy consumers' purchasing methods.

For US manufacturers, production in other Southeast Asian countries with low cost and high returns is obviously more attractive than rebuilding domestic industry.

In order to promote the import of textiles, the United States has agreed to extend the "Africa Growth and Opportunity Act" (AGOA) period again in August this year, and the preferential measures for textile and clothing products will continue until 2015.

According to this provision, AGOA has entered the US market with more than 6000 kinds of merchandise tariff free products from 38 countries in sub Saharan Africa, and textile and apparel products can be processed from third country yarn producing materials.

The introduction of the clause largely ensures the supply of textiles in the upper reaches of the United States.

In addition, the government of the United States is also strengthening the innovation capacity of textile enterprises.

Cass Johnson, chairman of NCTO, said that in the past 3 years, the US textile industry has invested more than 3 billion US dollars, including building new factories in the United States to produce the world's most innovative yarn and fabrics. Cass Johnson

    Buy American bill or catalyst

In addition to actively supporting the development of the textile and garment industry, the US government recently introduced a new initiative to promote the government to buy American goods with mandatory provisions, thereby stimulating the industry to pick up.

The bill, called "Wear American Act", is intended to revise 51% of the existing federally purchased clothing products, which must be made in the United States, to be revised for the purchase of textile and clothing products by all US government agencies. 100% of the goods manufactured in the United States must be purchased.

Sherrod Brown, Ohio, said that because of multiple factors, the manufacturing opportunities of the US manufacturing industry, including textile and garment industry, have long been pferred overseas.

The US government should try to buy locally made garment products from the United States.

Johnson, chairman of the National Association of textile groups, adds that in the sports field or in the federal procurement case, the use of "made in America" brand products should be an integral part of the United States itself for US citizens and the rest of the world.

At this point, the "Wear American Act" act is the right time to make textile products made in the United States.

The rising demand for products is expected to stimulate industrial return.
