    Clothes & Accessories

Because of different sex, age, marital status and so on, there are regional differences.

But they all maintain a traditional style of Hmong from ancient times to the present. Miao women have pleated skirts, colorful patterns, embroidery, brocade, batik, and cross stitch decoration.

The color of the dress is mainly red, blue, yellow, white and black. It keeps the tradition of Miao people's "three seedlings" and "good five colors" ("Hou Han Shu Nan Nan Chuan").

The clothing materials are mainly made of raw materials from residential areas, mostly made of cotton, hemp, wool and so on.

The existing Hmong costumes are mainly determined by region. They are divided into five types: Qiandongnan type, South Central Guizhou type, Sichuan Guizhou Dian type, Xiangxi type and Hainan type.

Qiandongnan Miao costumes: 16 counties and cities in Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture of Guizhou, Tuyun, Libo, three cities, Xingren, Anshun, Guangxi meltwater, Sanjiang and other regions.

The coat has a large collar or right half.

Pleated skirts vary in length, with all kinds of waist and leggings.

The bun is also quite different.

In general, there are more than 30 styles of Miao nationality clothing in Qiandongnan.

The dress of Miao people in central and Southern Guizhou mainly includes Guiyang, dragon, Guiding, Huishui, Pingba, Anshun, Pingtang, Luodian, Yunnan, Yunnan, Wenshan, Ma Li and Guangxi long Lin.

It is characterized by black, white and blue thread embroidered dress or batik.

Big collar, open skirt, pleated skirt, Baotou handkerchief or scarf, bun hair.

There are 5 styles of Miao costumes in central and Southern Guizhou.

The clothing of the Miao people in Sichuan, Guizhou and Yunnan: mainly in southern Sichuan, Qianxi, Northwest Guizhou, Northeast Yunnan, Northwest Guangxi, Yunnan, Zhaotong, Weixin, Chuxiong and Jinsha.

The main material is linen, the color of clothing is shallow, and the batik process is common.

    Clothing and hairstyles are varied.

    Xiangxi

Miao clothing: mainly in Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Songtao, Sichuan Xiushan, Youyang, Hubei Hubei West Tu family Miao Autonomous Prefecture and so on.

There are 8 kinds of colorful headbands and variant styles.

Hainan Miao costumes: due to the influence of local Li nationality dress, Miao women wear only long sleeves with long right skirts and knee joints, and only one button, no collar and batik skirts. They are mainly black and red, with fewer patterns, and wrapped in a embroidered pattern of scarves. A sharp pointed headband embroidered with lace is covered outside, and a red ribbon hangs behind it, showing that it is very different from the Miao costumes of other regions.

The Miao costume has a unique nationality.

    Culture

    Background.

The colorful lines on the pleated skirt are rivers, mountain roads, and the circular square patterns on the back cards. They are once owned cities, streets, walls, and turrets. The moire, water lines and prismatic patterns on the shawls are the land of the northern land and fertile farmland of the hilly area. The "horse" patterns and water ripples on the flowers are the spectacular momentum of the movement of the Miao people when they migrate. The pattern of Miao costumes is a national history book worn on them.

Miao clothing, as an important component of its cultural tradition and life style, is the material and spiritual flower that the historical source and cultural factor blossomed in the process of pmission and evolution.

The symbolic system is combined with meaning and symbolized by its own system.
