Annual Conference Of Textile And Garment Industry: Sustainable Development Thruster For Garment Industry

Organized by the China Textile Industry Federation, "2012 China Textile and garment industry social responsibility annual meeting and China Textile and garment enterprise social responsibility report joint press conference" was held in Shanghai.

Based on the theme of sustainable development, the conference summed up the social responsibility work of the textile and garment industry for 2011-2012 years. According to the requirements of the "12th Five-Year" development plan of the textile industry, the requirements for social responsibility were put forward.

Since China's Textile Industry Federation (formerly China Textile Industry Association) launched the first industry social responsibility report in 2006, the China Federation of textile industry has disclosed information on the construction of industrial social responsibility to all circles at home and abroad for seven consecutive years.

The 2011/2012 social responsibility report on China's textile and garment industry is the seventh industry social responsibility report. The report is divided into four parts. The first part, on the basis of explaining the development of China's textile and garment industry in 2011, analyzes the change of macro factors in various industries and its influence on the social responsibility of industry.

The second part mainly introduces the main work and effect of the social responsibility construction in 2011.

The third part is the research results of the new generation of young workers in the field of social responsibility hotspots. It analyzes the challenges of the new generation of young workers on corporate responsibility management and puts forward management and policy recommendations.

The fourth part explains the social responsibility planning of China's textile and garment industry from 2012 to 2013.

Since 2009, China Textile Federation has organized four joint press conferences on China's textile and garment industry social responsibility report. The number of corporate social responsibility reports released by China's textile and garment industry has reached 133. Nearly 50 reports have been released through the China Textile and apparel social responsibility report joint conference platform (China released the most reports on social responsibility reports), of which nearly 30 reports have been independently verified.

Several figures not only reflect the progress made by China's textile and garment industry in the disclosure of social responsibility information, but also make China's textile industry's leading social responsibility disclosure information the top of the national industrial sector, and it is also the encouraging result of China's textile and garment industry to carry out self-discipline and promote corporate social responsibility construction.

In his speech, Zhu Hong gave a positive affirmation to the China Textile Industry Federation (hereinafter referred to as the China Textile Federation) for the extensive and in-depth social responsibility construction in the industry and promoting the healthy and sustainable development of the industry for many years. We hope that relevant departments, brands, suppliers and the public will take an active part in the joint efforts to shoulder the corresponding social responsibilities.

In his speech, President Wang Tiankai asked the whole industry to thoroughly carry out the implementation.

To actively implement the "textile industry" 12th Five-Year "development plan", the powerful nation must insist on accelerating the pformation of the mode of economic development as the main line, taking structural adjustment and industrial upgrading as the main direction of attack, taking the integration of independent innovation, brand building and two integration as an important support, and improving the value chain and realizing sustainable development as an important starting point, and developing a modern textile industrial system with structural optimization, advanced technology, green environmental protection, high added value and strong employability.

In the keynote speech entitled "sustainable development: the future of China's textile and garment industry", vice president Sun Ruizhe said: "the social responsibility of the industry is not only a necessary way to achieve sustainable development, but also an important goal of sustainable development."

Sun Ruizhe said: from the responsibility point of view, China's textile and garment industry has the mission of three levels: micro, middle and macro.

First of all, at the micro level, the industry should protect the rights and interests of workers, equal opportunities and dignity, and achieve decent work. At the same time, it should also provide adequate and high-quality products, improve personal living standards and quality of consumption, which is the responsibility of people, mainly workers and consumers.

From the meso level, we should maintain and improve the environment, improve the effective output rate of resources, and advocate a standardized, sustainable industrial order and social value, and promote the rule of law and civilization of the market and society. This is our responsibility to the environment and the Chinese society.

Finally, at the macro level, the textile and garment industry is a job intensive industry, because we also have the responsibility to provide, maintain and promote employment, protect the people's livelihood and national harmony. At the same time, in view of the important position of China's textile and apparel industry in the world's textile and apparel supply chain, we have the responsibility to stabilize and optimize the international supply chain and value chain, so that China can make the world benefit, which is our responsibility to the international community.

It can be seen that the responsibility of our industry is the "three dimensions" on the "three levels". Here, the three dimension is the three indispensable aspects of the Rio consensus on Sustainable Development: economy, society and environment.

As for how to strengthen sustainable construction in the future, Sun Ruizhe put forward: "strengthening management system promotion, increasing economic performance of enterprises, strengthening disclosure of responsibility information, optimizing enterprise social performance, strengthening the whole value chain collaboration and improving the environmental performance of enterprises" new ideas, he said: our goal is to achieve sustainable development of society, environment and economy through the efforts of the whole industry.

According to the decision of the China Textile Federation on "awarding the practice demonstration award and excellent award for the CSR information disclosure of China's textile and garment industry in 2012", the China Textile Industry Federation's social responsibility Promotion Committee, based on the results of the data analysis of the 40 social responsibility reports of the textile and garment industry enterprises, awarded the 3 enterprises of Jingwei Textile Machinery Limited by Share Ltd and other 3 enterprises "China Textile and garment industry social responsibility information disclosure practice demonstration Award", and awarded the Jiangsu Dan Mao Textile Co., Ltd. and 10 other enterprises "China Textile and garment industry social responsibility information disclosure practice excellence award".
