By 2020, 200 billion pairs of shoes will be produced from local leather, which may create about 12000 jobs.
"I predict that when we reach 2020, the export of semi finished leather will not be the trend in the future," she said in a local industry event held in mid June.
The minister explained that the government is helping tanneries and footwear companies to find strong demand in the domestic market, invest in new technologies through soft loans, and protect local origin from imports with illegal competitive properties.
She called on all businesses in the industry to do everything they can to Argentina.

SABIC and ExxonMobil Chemical Company jointly announced the construction of a world-class elastomer manufacturing base in Jubail industrial city.
