Nanning Monitoring Infant Clothing 20% Substandard Fiber Content Is Not Qualified

In June 21st, the industrial and commercial department announced the results of the sampling inspection. The results showed that 20% of infants and young children were not eligible for physical objects.

It is understood that the business sector has sampled 10 batches of infant clothing, including supermarkets, maternity and infant supplies, shopping malls, and self-employed households, and 7 other business establishments, involving 9 manufacturing enterprises in two provinces and cities in Shanghai and Guangdong.

Of the 10 batches of 10 samples examined by statutory bodies, there were 8 qualified samples, with an overall pass rate of 80%.

The monitoring results showed that the formaldehyde content of 10 kinds of samples affecting human health and safety, the pH value that may cause skin allergy or infection, and water color fastness, color fastness to perspiration, and dry rubbing fastness were all in line with national standards.

Only the samples produced by two enterprises in Shantou appeared the phenomenon of unqualified fiber content. They were the "Seoul fashion color matching suit" with the trademark "baby dream", and the "holiday trip vest open crotch suit" with the trademark "Bei Bi Hai".

According to industry and Commerce staff,

Ingredient content is the main quality index of clothing products. The quality of product ingredients is one of the important factors determining product value.

In most cases, the content of fiber components labeled by the commodity is the basis for consumers to choose and purchase infant clothing. The fiber content does not conform to the nominal content, which will directly damage the legitimate rights and interests of consumers. The inaccuracy of fiber content identification is a fraud to consumers.

At present, the commerce and Industry Department has placed an investigation on the operators who sell the unqualified products.

The business sector reminds consumers that they are buying babies and infants.

When you look carefully at the product label, you will know the product name, factory name, factory site, specifications, size, execution standard number, fiber composition and content, certificate, quality grade, washing method and so on.

If there are no safety labels or incorrect textile products, they are classified as substandard products.

Moreover, when buying, smell the product with pungent odor. If it has a pungent odor, it may be a high formaldehyde content, so it should be careful when choosing it.
