After a year of pition, the new version of the national basic safety technical specification for textile products will be formally implemented in August 1st this year.

It is understood that all the technical contents of the new standard are mandatory and do not conform to GB18401-2010's textile products. They will be banned from production, sale and import.

The age range of coverage, that is, 2 to 3 years old children's clothing produced according to the original standards, will be fully lowered after August.

Under the new standard, the aromatic amines which are not allowed to decompose during the reduction are increased from the previous 23 to 24 species. The maximum limit value of the carcinogenic aromatic amines is clearly defined as 20mg/kg, which is in line with international standards.

The new standard especially protects children's special consumer groups: the age range of infant clothing sampling is extended from 24 months to 36 months, and all of these clothes have to carry out class a standards. Class a standards are more stringent in terms of formaldehyde, pH value, color fastness, odor and so on.
