The textile and Clothing Institute of Wuyi University has two undergraduate specialties in textile engineering and clothing design and engineering. The textile and garment Institute consists of 1038 departments, namely, the textile department (including dyeing and finishing), the Department of clothing and the experimental center of textile and clothing.

The college students are well received by the society. The initial employment rate of textile engineering graduates began to maintain 100% in 1999 for 12 consecutive years. The textile and Clothing Institute has set up a strong research platform -- the Textile Science Research Institute of Wuyi University and the textile engineering technology research and development center of Jiangmen City, which have formed relatively stable research directions, including "Textile Functional Materials and new technology", "new textile technology and new technology", "new fabric development and performance research" and "biomedical textiles and new dyeing and finishing technology".
