It is understood that since the first National Academic Conference on spinning in 1979, more than 1000 papers have been published from cotton spinning, hemp spinning, wool spinning and silk spinning to new spinning technology, equipment and product development, such as rotor spinning, jet spinning, siro spinning, compact spinning and so on. Through academic exchanges, the conference has promoted the upgrading of China's spinning technology and the exchange of new technologies.

In 2011, the total domestic textile fiber processing reached 43 million 100 thousand tons, an increase of 4.36% over the same period last year.

In the first quarter of this year, the yarn output of the whole industry was 7 million 167 thousand tons, an increase of 13.1% over the same period last year.

A number of new spinning technologies have been applied and popularized, such as compact spinning, composite spinning, siro spinning, embedded spinning, etc. the conventional spinning technology and equipment are developing rapidly.

Taking the rotor spinning as an example, after 30 years of development, the number of rotor spinning in China has developed from less than 50 thousand in 1981 to nearly 3 million, accounting for 37.5% of the total equipment of the world rotor spinning.

However, as a whole, the equipment and technology level of our spinning technology still has a certain gap compared with the advanced spinning technology of the world.

The "12th Five-Year plan" of the textile industry pointed out that by the end of 12th Five-Year, the compact spinning of cotton textile should reach 20 million ingots, and the proportion of new spinning technology such as composite spinning, siro spinning and embedded spinning should reach over 60%.

In the face of this new requirement, it is particularly necessary for cotton spinning, wool spinning and other industries to carry out technical exchange and Discussion on new yarns, and constantly improve the level of new yarn technology and equipment.
