    Following the successful launching of the 2011 big wave cup Chinese women's costume design competition in Shenzhen, the 2012 big wave cup Chinese women's costume design competition has arrived again in the new year.

    The purpose of this competition is to discover and excavate Chinese original women's costume design talents, demonstrate the strength of Chinese original design, promote the adjustment and upgrading of Shenzhen women's clothing and even the Chinese women's clothing industry, and pform to the creative oriented knowledge intensive creative culture industry.

    At present, the 2012 "big wave Cup" women's dress design competition has been fully activated.

    The competition is sponsored by the Shenzhen Municipal Commission of economic and trade and information, Shenzhen Longhua New Area Management Committee and China Textile publishing house. China apparel magazine, Shenzhen garment industry association and Shenzhen big wave garment industry gathering base undertake.

    The competition will be designed for women's clothing designers, professional fashion designers, fashion academies, art schools and teachers in the whole country (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan).

    From March 10th to April 30th, the Organizing Committee of the competition will carry out intensive publicity throughout the country, and put up posters for the contest in more than 40 excellent clothing colleges and universities.

    And invited the top experts, designers, media people and other domestic and international top experts to set up the evaluation committee. According to the requirements of the competition, the design works were selected, and the first 20 series were finalists.

    2012 the final of the "big wave Cup" women's dress design competition will be held in July at the twelfth China (Shenzhen) international brand clothing and accessories fair.

    The competition will be awarded 1 gold medals, 2 silver medals, 3 bronze medals, several outstanding prizes, and a gold prize of 50 thousand yuan.


    The theme of "intensivism" is based on the process of industrial pformation.


    In 2012, for China's clothing industry, "internal and external troubles" is an indisputable fact. The world economy is facing a series of difficulties, resulting in the foreign trade of clothing blocked.

    However, a series of "internal worries" such as high cotton prices, high labor costs, rising terminal prices and increasing inventories have also made Chinese garment enterprises face great challenges.

    China's textile and apparel industry is facing a new pformation from manufacturing to innovation.

    This pformation requires a process to explore how to better integrate design innovation, creativity and traditional manufacturing.

    As a designer, we should combine creativity with intensive production to achieve "careful calculation, intensive cultivation and excellence". We should combine creativity with production, adapt to the rational use of resources in the global economy, highlight the marketization of creativity, realize the best combination of design innovation, creative and brand resources and market resources, and provide consumers with cost-effective innovative clothing.

    This is also the intention of this competition theme "intensive East".


    The competition encourages participants to focus on the theme of "intensive East" as much as possible to show their unique perspective and creative design concept, and at the same time, to reflect the international trend of 2013 spring and summer, original works and design innovation, and design works should have commercial value and market potential.

    This year is the key point for the 12th Five-Year plan to call for the pformation and upgrading of enterprises.
