Joyce, executive secretary of the Ministry, said that small industrial development organizations should train SMEs to make use of natural fibers so as to help them better enter the world market.
Using natural fibers to help Tanzania create new employment opportunities in handicrafts, such as sisters, animal hair and plant leaves, which make use of these natural fibers to produce garments and other products, Joyce added.
The coordinator of natural fiber development engineering said that the aim of the project is to train several entrepreneurs, especially small and medium-sized ones, to make use of natural fibers and technologies to ensure that they can achieve better growth and promote their competitiveness.
More than 200 entrepreneurs may benefit from the project.
The project will improve the living standards of small entrepreneurs in this field, and implement such projects in Mozambique and Zambia.
