It is reported that the base was established in Zhanhua County, Binzhou, with an area of 500 mu. John Deal provided an experimental demonstration of traction type one line, two line cotton picker and self propelled type 9970 cotton picker and some of the site preparation and plant protection machinery for cotton picking. In the selected project locations, we carried out all-round technical cooperation on the cultivation, planting, management and harvesting of cotton crops, and explored the whole mechanization scheme suitable for Shandong's cotton production.

According to reports, cotton is one of the most important cash crops in Shandong province. It is also an economic crop with large planting area, large scale and high regionalization. Its annual planting area is around 13 million mu. At present, cotton seeding, plant protection and other links have basically achieved mechanization, and cotton stalk harvesting mechanization has also made breakthrough progress. But cotton as a key production link Harvest Mechanization is still blank, totally relying on manual picking, low harvesting efficiency, high labor intensity and high production cost, which seriously affects the enthusiasm of cotton growers in developing cotton production and restricts the further development of cotton industry.
