British Clothing Retailers Support Local Production

In recent months, many UK apparel retailers have shown the initiative to turn production back to China and encourage consumers to buy.

Retailers foresee that the biggest advantage of localized production is that they will be able to place small orders.

On the other hand, when outsourcing from other countries, they have to place orders for thousands of products.

The second advantage is that the time from order to delivery is shorter. When it is produced in the UK, the time required is only 5-6 weeks, and the time required to place orders in the Far East is 12-14 weeks.

However, the biggest challenge for retailers to buy in the UK is the lack of skilled hands. If we do not solve this problem urgently, we will totally destroy the localization production plan.

Experts believe that British clothing retailers should only produce high-end labels made in the UK in the UK, because British made products are difficult to compete with the cost of mass garment production and the cost of cheaper overseas countries.
