Cai Jing pointed out that the textile and garment industry, as a traditional industry in Sichuan Province, has played an important role in resource conversion, absorbing employment, exporting foreign exchange and meeting people's increasing material and cultural needs for a long time.

Driven by the development of the western region and the strategy of Sichuan's strong industrial province, the textile and garment industry has persisted in structural adjustment and industrial upgrading. It has successfully overcome the serious impact of the "5. 12" Wenchuan earthquake and the international financial crisis. The industry has maintained an annual growth rate of more than 30%. The overall scale of the textile industry ranks tenth in the whole country and the first in the western region.
