In 1996, the EU imposed a quota restriction on imports of China's footwear, and imposed a provisional anti-dumping duty of 94.1% on the basis of China's footwear exports to China. In 1999, the Slovakia government stipulated that the number of Chinese footwear imports should not exceed 2 million pairs per year.     2002 is the first year of China's accession to the WTO. With the sustained and rapid development of the entire national economy, the footwear industry's economy presents a steady growth trend in production, sales and foreign trade.


    The number of footwear exports in China increased from 3 billion 970 million pairs in 2000 to 7 billion 850 million pairs in 2006. Driven by the wide market of shoe industry in the world, China's footwear industry has stepped onto the platform of the world's footwear industry.
