Imports of US $385 million, imports of computers and electronic parts to US $250 million, cloth imports of US $243 million, telephone and spare parts imports of US $164 million, chemical fertilizer imports of US $110 million, and oil imports of US $104 million.
During this period, Vietnam exported about 986 million US dollars to China (an increase of 54% over the same period in 2010). The largest export items were crude oil and natural latex (crude oil exports nearly US $219 million, and natural latex exports nearly US $107 million).
In the first 10 months, it imported 19 billion 577 million US dollars from mainland China (22.6% year-on-year growth in 2010), and exported 8 billion 562 million US dollars (56%) to mainland China.
The trade deficit of imports and exports was about $11 billion 15 million, an increase of 4.5% over the same period in 2010.
The Ministry of Commerce and industry held a summary meeting on the import and export trade of the northern border in 2006 in mid November 2011, ~2011.
Officials from the business affairs division of the Ministry of Commerce and industry said that the government should make early and medium term and long-term development strategies for border trade with mainland China so as to benefit Vietnamese goods.
