Stabilizing Commodity Prices Requires Three Combinations

On November 4th, when President Hu Jintao attended the sixth summit of the group of twenty leaders held in Cannes, France, he made a keynote speech on the main topics of the conference, such as commodity price fluctuations, employment and labour.

Hu Jintao pointed out that, with regard to controlling commodity price fluctuations, the group of twenty should focus on three issues:

First, stabilize commodity prices and promote the world.

Two is to stabilize commodity prices combined with the protection of global energy security and food security.

It should be in the real economy.

Three is to stabilize the bulk.

Hu Jintao stressed that China always adhered to its own strength to achieve energy security and food security.

In the field of energy, we have always insisted on giving priority to conservation, basing ourselves on domestic, diversified development, protecting the environment, and building a stable, economic, clean and safe energy supply system.

In the field of grain, we have always adhered to the principle of achieving self sufficiency in grain based on domestic policies, and steadily improved the comprehensive grain and agricultural production capacity through policies such as increasing investment in agriculture, strengthening irrigation and water conservancy construction, and accelerating the development of agricultural science and technology.
