TOM FINN: we are very honored to be able to attend CISMA2011.

Gerber first released the latest version of CAD software AccuMark 8.5 in CISMA2011. The new software can help enterprises simplify the layout plan and speed up the cost accounting.

At the same time, we also introduced the PLM (product life cycle management) system for the first time in China, which is also the first appearance of PLM system in the Asia Pacific region.

In the Asia Pacific region, the PLM system is still in the stage of conceptual import and trial exploration. PLM, as a complete solution to the garment industry, aims to enhance the efficiency of product development and management, and hopes that its popularization and application will bring new changes to the garment industry.

Reporter: Excuse me, Mr. TOM, what are the characteristics of Gerber's products compared with the similar products in the market? Can you give us a brief introduction?

TOM FINN: Gerber has been involved in the clothing equipment industry for a long time, and many garment enterprises have been running in for a long time. The product R & D is also designed for the needs of the enterprises.

For example, Gerber is one of the first companies to launch clothing CAD software. At the same time, the accuracy of our CAD software is also at the leading level in the industry. And this year, the PLM system has been introduced into the Chinese market, with a view to improving enterprise efficiency and reducing the cost of enterprises.

In addition, the products launched by Gerber are a whole series, so that enterprises are using them.

Reporter: energy conservation and environmental protection has become the development trend of the manufacturing industry. For today's clothing industry, energy conservation and environmental protection is also crucial to its pformation and upgrading.

TOM FINN: Gerber has always attached importance to energy conservation and environmental protection. We also understand that energy conservation and environmental protection will be an important trend in the future development of China's clothing industry.

In my opinion, enterprises are also citizens of the society and need to shoulder certain social responsibilities.

Interviewer: Mr. TOM, you just took over as CEO of Gerber Asia Pacific at the beginning of the year. What adjustments will you make to the strategic planning of the future Chinese market?

TOM FINN: Gerber has entered China more than 30 years ago and has always attached great importance to training and developing the Chinese market.

At the beginning of the conference of Gerber headquarters, we determined that the future development strategy of Gerber was "WIN IN AND FROM CHINA (based on China and win in China"), which shows that the company headquarters is confident of the future development of Gerber in the Chinese market.

With regard to strategic adjustment, Gerber has moved Asia Pacific headquarters from Hongkong to Shanghai, China, while Shanghai has been designated by headquarters as the operation and supply chain center of the Asia Pacific region.

In terms of market strategy, Gerber has always attached great importance to the cooperative relationship with Chinese enterprises, especially concerned about and supporting the development of SMEs.

When Gerber first entered the Chinese market, he established a cooperative relationship with many small and medium-sized enterprises. After more than 20 years of development, the small businesses had already grown into large enterprises.

In the future, Gerber's strategy in the Chinese market is still unchanged. We will continue to introduce entry-level tailor and other products with a view to establishing cooperation with more SMEs.

Reporter: as a relatively early foreign-funded enterprise in China, Gerber can give us some advice on the views of the Chinese clothing and software equipment companies.

TOM FINN: I think the current Chinese garment software equipment industry should strengthen standardized management.

At present, there are a lot of pirated clothing software and imitation clothing equipment on the market. Their existence will encroach on the market of genuine software and equipment. In the long run, it will hurt the enthusiasm of R & D of enterprises and form a vicious circle.

I think China should strengthen the management of industry standard in this field, protect the intellectual property rights and research and innovation power of enterprises, so as to achieve the sustainability of the development of the entire industry and enterprises.
