In the first half of 2011, ASEAN became the second largest export market for home textiles in Thailand, and its exports increased by 44.4% over the same period last year.
The main reasons for the dramatic increase in Thailand household textiles exports to ASEAN include the completion of the ASEAN Free Trade Area, the increasing consumer behavior of ASEAN consumers and the looser market trade protection of ASEAN countries.
The research center estimated that the total domestic textile exports in Thailand could be maintained at 370 million US dollars in 2011, an increase of only 1.2% over the previous year, mainly because of the slowdown in the main export markets such as the United States, the European Union and Japan.
And because of the fierce competition in the market, orders for home textiles are decreasing, so ASEAN's home textiles in Thailand.
