Cross Strait Interaction &Nbsp; Taiwan Exhibition Industry Wants To Join Hands With Sichuan Enterprises

Recently, the Taipei World Trade Center and the Sichuan provincial council for promoting trade and the Chengdu City Council for trade promotion jointly held the "cross-strait Convention and exhibition industry cooperation and exchange conference" held in Chengdu.

Ye Mingshui, Deputy Secretary General of the Taipei World Trade Center, said that in the past, Sichuan enterprises also took part in exhibitions at Taipei World Trade Center, and the results were good.

Now that ECFA has been implemented, there will be more opportunities for cooperation between Taipei and Sichuan in the exhibition industry.

At the same time, Taipei and Sichuan have complementary advantages in product exhibition. Sichuan produces more electromechanical and agricultural and sideline products, and needs to go out to occupy Taiwan and overseas markets. Taipei World Trade Center has become a bridge and link between Mainland and overseas markets, and it can help Sichuan's superior products to move towards the international market.

"Since the Taiwan group took part in the Western Conference in 2006, the scale of exhibition has been expanding every year. We are optimistic about Chengdu's role as a window for the western region, but there are still a large number of Sichuan enterprises that have no chance to participate in Taiwan."

Ye Mingshui said that in the context of expanding domestic demand, the western region of Chengdu is a market that Taiwan needs to focus on. Since 2006, Taiwan group participated in the Western Conference, and the scale of exhibition has been expanding every year.

Ye Mingshui said that after last year's investment in Taiwan, Foxconn, weidhuang and other electronic information enterprises settled in Sichuan, a group of electronic information enterprises such as Taiwan Ren Bao group, Qi Hong Electronics and Vanward international settled in the first half of this year. Taiwan run group, sunyang technology and other enterprises have increased investment projects in Sichuan.

Up to now, Taiwan has invested 1518 enterprises in Sichuan, with a total investment of US $6 billion 554 million.

It is reported that the local exhibitions in Taiwan also have considerable competitiveness in the world. Taking Taiwan auto parts exhibition as an example, the scale has reached the top three in Asia and the top five in the world.

"Of course, Taiwan enterprises also benefit from it."

Ye Mingshui said that in the 1-5 months of this year, the number of employees in the manufacturing industry increased by 4.78% over the same period last year. The growth rate of employees in the ECFA early checklist industry is much higher than that in the whole manufacturing industry.

Among them, the growth rate of mechanical equipment manufacturing is the most brilliant, and the growth rate of employees is 7.53%.

In addition, the car and its parts manufacturing industry grew by 5.97%, both above the average growth rate of 4.78%.

Early harvest list trade enjoyment

It is learnt that, according to the implementation of the ECFA early checklist in January 1st this year, the mainland will reduce taxes on the 557 8 digit tax numbers originating in Taiwan.

Data show that as of June 30, 2011, mainland imports enjoyed 12201 ECFA tariff preferences, worth 1 billion 914 million US dollars.

In the first half of this year, the mainland's imports to Taiwan amounted to about US $10 billion 240 million, and the value of ECFA tariff concessions accounted for nearly 20% of the total value of imports.

"At present, 451 commodities tariffs have dropped to 5%, and next year they are expected to fall to 0.95%. In the future, 0 tariffs will be the ultimate goal."

Ye Mingshui said that ECFA has made Taiwan's competitive industries stronger and stronger. The total export value of machinery industry has increased by more than 60% over the past year, and the bicycle industry has increased by more than 30%. The export of small household appliances has grown to 130 thousand dollars from 10 thousand US dollars, and the value of pmission shaft and coal has also grown from 3 million 200 thousand US dollars to 20 thousand US dollars.

In the first half of this year, Taiwan manufacturers actively used the ECFA early harvest plan.

From 1 to June, Taiwan issued 17072 ECFA certificates of origin, amounting to about 2 billion 570 million US dollars, including 397 agricultural products and 16675 industrial products.

The top 5 industries of industrial products are petrochemical, machinery, textiles, pport and metals.
