The Swiss Consumer Price Index Fell 12.2% In July 2011

The consumer price index survey in July 2011 compared with June 2011, the price index fell by 0.8%, to 99.7 points (=100 in December 2010).

The inflation rate was 0.5% (annual rate); the inflation rate in June 2011 was 0.6% (annual rate); in June 2010, it was 0.4% (annual rate).
The report pointed out that the main items of falling prices were clothing (-12.2%) and crude oil products (-3.3%), which was caused by the large discount in summer.
The most popular items in July were other sundries and educational products (+0.1%).
The items that fall in price are: -12.2%, -3.3%, -0.9, food and non alcoholic beverages (-0.8%), household goods and household utensils (-0.7%), leisure culture (-0.3%), residential and energy (-0.3%), restaurant and hotel (-0.1%) and news media (+0.1%).
The price remains stable.
