Wang Zhentao said that the lawsuit brought by the European Commission to court has finally made new progress in almost a year. The first instance of the anti-dumping proceedings initiated by the Chinese shoe companies has recently been completed by the European Court of first instance.

Although the progress is relatively slow, the whole bureau is in China's favor, and this lawsuit will not be ignored.

In 2005, the EU launched anti-dumping investigations involving over $700 million in Chinese leather shoes, and in October 7th last year, the dumping rate of Chinese shoes was 16.5%, and a two-year anti-dumping duty was levied.

5 companies such as AOKANG, Tamar, Jin Lu, new born port and WAN Bang shoe industry filed a lawsuit at the European Union Court last December.

According to the European Union's anti-dumping judicial procedure, the second round of defense procedures will be launched immediately after the first round of defense procedures. The time will last for one year.

In the second round of defense, China will mainly defend the defense points raised by the accused party in the first round of defense, such as the technical problems of dumping calculation, and how to apply the sampling investigation procedure.

However, some people in the industry are not optimistic about the lawsuit. The first reason is that it is very difficult to sue the European Commission. Second, the lawsuit will last longer. It is estimated that the final decision of the European Union Court will wait until the end of 2008, and the EU's anti-dumping duties on Chinese shoes will expire next October.

Wang Zhentao did not agree with this. He said: "the European Commission may extend the tax time for five years after the expiration of two years of taxation. The Chinese shoe enterprises will bring the European Commission to court. This will be a pressure for the European Commission. And the importers and retailers of the EU shoes are strongly against taxes, and we are expected to pull back the lawsuit.

We have recently received information from a cooperative Italy shoe manufacturer that the EU may no longer impose anti-dumping duties on Chinese leather shoes next year.

In addition, after the lawsuit, it is more conducive to the EU shoe industry to increase awareness of Chinese shoes. AOKANG has clearly felt that the popularity of the EU has increased, and it is still worth while to spend about 2000000 yuan to fight the lawsuit.

The EU has imposed anti-dumping duties on the export of Chinese leather shoes for a year.

Many shoe companies at the Canton Fair reflect that the order for leather shoes in Europe is about 20% lower than that before taxation. After the anti-dumping duty, the retail price of Chinese leather shoes generally increased by more than 10% in the EU market. Some buyers pferred some of their orders to Southeast Asia because consumers did not accept the raise price.

According to the data provided by the China Light Industry Arts and crafts import and export chamber, the number of imports of leather shoes anti-dumping products decreased by 7.76% in the first half of this year compared with the same period.

Among them, the number of imports from China was 86 million pairs, and the import amount was 943 million US dollars, down 26.37% and 21.36% respectively compared with the same period last year.

AOKANG official told reporters that the group has adjusted the market strategy, which has little impact.

This year, AOKANG has established three overseas branches in India, the United States and Hongkong, China, and the three overseas markets have increased significantly.

In addition, AOKANG has stepped up its domestic sales efforts and readjust its product structure. The industrial chain is extending to Guangdong and Chongqing. Recently, it has entered the largest leather and leather production and marketing base in Guangzhou, Shilin, Huadu, Guangzhou. All the leather products supplied to the Olympic Games in the Shilin District in Huadu are expanding rapidly in Guangdong with the help of Guangdong market.
