Xu Kunyuan believes that with the continuous upgrading of the knitting industry, the comprehensive skills requirements for talents are also getting higher and higher.

In response to this problem, Xu Kunyuan said that in the process of adjusting the regional structure of the textile industry, the labor intensive part of the industrial chain should be pferred to the central and western regions to form a stable workforce. "At present, there are few professional training in the textile industry. The university education is divorced from the actual demand, and the distance education for workers is also very weak. The industry organizations should play an active role in strengthening the guidance for staff training."

In order to improve the theoretical level and operational skills of weft knitted workers, and promote the continuous improvement of the quality of the knitting industry, it is introduced that the weft knitting skills competition is oriented to all kinds of weft knitting enterprise operators in the knitting industry.

Sun Xiaoyin, director of the textile industry vocational skill appraisal guidance center (hereinafter referred to as the skill center), said that the competition consists of two parts, namely theoretical knowledge examination and practical operation assessment. The theoretical part accounts for 30%, and the actual operation part 70%.

China knitwear industry association organizes referees and coaches, formulating competition plans and unifying competition standards.

Enterprises are encouraged to organize preliminaries for selecting excellent athletes.

In order to ensure the universality and influence of the competition, the weft knitting (skills of big round machine) skills competition will start from the preliminary contest to the finals for about half a year, and the national finals will be held at the end of November 2011 or early December.

Yang Shibin, President of the China knitwear Association, said that the production of textile products by large circular knitting machines involved nearly one million operators, and finally entered the finals, which is expected to be around 100.
