China'S "New Forces" Will Shine In Italy

China Designs New Forces In Italy

"China Daily" reported in June 14th: "China's new design" exhibition in June 7th in Italy "fashion capital" of the opening of Milan, Chinese young designers to show their ideas and design to the world.

Chinese designer's works rarely appear in international fashion magazines in the past few years, and rarely compete with the major luxury brands. But now, with the maturity of Chinese designers of the younger generation, this imagination is changing.

More and more Chinese designers are appearing on the international stage, and the ongoing "China new design" exhibition will further present their works.

As an important exchange project of "Chinese culture year" in Italy, the art exchange exhibition aims to introduce the design works of young Chinese designers, and exchange ideas and use of design in contemporary life with the public in Italy in the fields of graphic, clothing, multimedia, architecture, home and so on.

The exhibition carefully selected 134 works from 29 young Chinese designers.

Talented young designers present the style and connotation of Chinese contemporary design to Italy audiences.

The exhibition of "China's new design" will be exhibited in Milan for more than 3 months. The exhibition will be launched in Turin, Italy's industrial city.

Cai Wu, Minister of Chinese culture, said in his speech at the exhibition that he hoped that the people of Italy would be able to take this exhibition closer to China and experience an open, pluralistic, democratic, harmonious and charming China, thereby further deepening the friendship between the two peoples.

Zhang Da, representing the new generation of designers, will exhibit his "Ping" series of works, which is full of personal style and artistic thinking.

Wang Yiyang's costume design works attempt to make a new attempt in a highly western style of men's clothing in a personalized and localized way.

Multimedia designer Zhu Jinjing brings the representative work "NOKIA Bruce Lee".

"The common points of these young Chinese designers are that they are good at using Chinese culture as a design for Beijing, and their designs are integrated with practical applications, with creativity," said Cui Jiao, director of culture and Education Department of the Youce culture department and curator of "China new design" and "China New design" series of lectures.

"This exhibition sticks to the original and independent curatorial spirit and displays the latest and latest design works in Italy and the world," Cui said.

The "new China design" Exhibition hosted by youlen, specially invited architect Zhang Yonghe, youth designer Liu Zhi Zhi, Guang Yu as curator consultant, Zhang Yonghe will be the exhibition hall of the exhibition, Liu Zhizhi and Guang Yu will be responsible for the graphic design of the exhibition.

"This activity is the first time that the Chinese government has incorporated modern design exhibitions into official activities in international exchanges," said Liu Zhizhi, 35, China's graphic design.

"In the past, the world understood China is usually some traditional culture, such as dragon dance, lion dance, Chinese Peking Opera and so on.

I believe this exhibition is a good way to introduce to the world the characteristics of young people in contemporary China and the story and culture behind these designers.

Liu Zhizhi, a designer from Beijing, is one of the representatives of Chinese young designers. He has designed posters for the 798 Art District and the original Chinese design shop of "BNC peppermint glutinous rice scallion" in Sanlitun.

In the exhibition of "China's new design", some of his posters and book covers will be on display.

Liu Zhizhi said that graphic design started late in China until the "graphic design in China" exhibition in 1992 brought the young designer a certain understanding of graphic design.

"At that time, I was a senior high school student.

The exhibition was the first rigorously standardized graphic design competition in China.

From childhood, I was interested in painting and writing. That exhibition showed me what I wanted to do in the future and what I really wanted to do, "he recalls.

In 2002, after graduating from the graphic design specialty of the Central Academy of fine arts, Liu Zhi Zhi and his two classmates founded the MEWE Design Alliance studio.

Their early customers were artists, architects and designers in the 798 Art District.

He said that this job brings him the greatest pleasure and challenge is to add his own ideas to customers while designing products.

"Graphic design is also a platform for designers to express themselves. I believe that designers in any field value it very much," he said.

Wang Yiyang, a designer from Shanghai, agrees with this view.

"Now there are many topics about" made in China "to" Chinese design ".

Personality and practicality are highlighted in the works of young Chinese designers, "Wang Yiyang said.

Wang Yiyang is a typical representative of China's "70 after" designers.

He is the perfect combination of modern art and clothing -- the founder of "tea jar", whose brand has shops in Hongkong, Japan and France.

For designers who are familiar with the market but still cling to their artistic beliefs, he points out that the designers of Chinese young generation are moving in the right direction.

Teng Fei, Professor of jewelry design department of the Central Academy of fine arts, believes that the younger generation of Chinese designers are more focused on the international market and keep pace with the design front compared with their predecessors.

At the age of 48, she became the founder of the jewelry design department of the Central Academy of fine arts, and went through the development process of Chinese design. From the affiliated Academy of art academy to the Academy of fine arts and later to University of the Arts in Berlin, she witnessed the development and change of Chinese designers.

Her father was a calligraphic artist. When she was a child, tutor was very strict with TAT Fei. She did not know about jewelry design.

"Chinese people are very conservative. People in those days were very plain dressed and would not wear jewellery. Learning in Germany allowed me to open my eyes and enter the field of jewelry design," she said.

In 1994, she returned to China to teach in the clothing Institute, but her theory of "jewelry design for personal service" was not accepted.

"The older generation of artists has a strong technological foundation, but they lack the spirit of adventure.

Now young designers have a lot of imagination, "she said.

It also points out that jewelry is in sync with the development of modern art in foreign countries. It has gone a long way and develops very fast. But now, even in China, the concept has not been established yet, and the gap is very large.

For designers, creative thinking and imagination are the first and must be hands-on.

"Take the Central Academy of fine arts, every year there are many creative, practical ability students, they are good at innovation."

A common problem faced by Chinese young designers is that it is difficult to integrate with the domestic mass market.

Their works are very attractive to the international market and industry personnel.

"So designers want the public to accept and understand their works, but there is a gap between designers and consumers in China," Cui said.

"The lack of mass market, the lack of promotion, and the public's understanding of original works have created this problem, but I think this phenomenon is improving."

Professor Fu Fei believes that despite the difficulties facing the market, more and more people choose to design.

Every year, she will recommend graduates to major fashion brands to practice, and meet the freshest design concept and market operation.
