    From Wangfujing to Xidan


    In 1997, Lord Buddha entered Beijing and chose the address on a side street in Wangfujing.

    In less than a year, he was forced to close the Beijing store because of his poor management and never entered the Asian market again.


    As the first Asian shop and the first flagship store in China, the opening of Xidan's Lafayette department is strategically important.

    In Paul's view, the present Xidan is quite different from the Wangfujing 14 years ago.

    If the location errors and planning loopholes at that time led to the loss of MacLehose, the vitality and fashion of Xidan now make him confident.


    "I really want to witness the development of shopping districts in Xidan, and we will bring a brand new and different shopping experience."

    It seems that the plan of Xidan's entry into less than two years is behind the team's fieldwork and research for more than ten years.


    Paul told reporters that Lord Buddha chose to return to Beijing at this time, because the investigation team found that the location of the site opened by the old Buddha department store. In the three years after the end of the 2008 Olympic Games, Beijing has rapidly grown into the most active luxury goods consumer in the Asia Pacific region. The world's top luxury brands such as LV, GUCCI and LOEWE are no longer strange to Chinese people.

    The Xidan fashion world's fashion fads and the world's top brands show great business opportunities.


    "The department store industry in Beijing has been very fragmented. When we left 14 years ago, we visited Xidan, but this area has not been much improved for many years. Until last year, we suddenly discovered that Xidan has once again become the mainstream high-end retail consumption place in Beijing. I think the time is ripe."


    Build Beijing version of Buddha


    To reduce the risk of entering the Chinese market, Lafayette general chose to set up a joint venture with I.T, a domestic fashion retailing company, each with a 50% stake, and plans to open 15 chain department stores in China in five years.


    Paul said that Lord Buddha decided to join hands with I.T, a domestic retailer, and relied on his five years of experience in the Chinese market to promote the expansion of the market in Beijing.

    At the same time, Lord Buddha will bring his unique business philosophy to Xidan.

    While continuing the features of the French old Buddha, the flagship store in Xidan will also import new brands from Europe, the United States and other countries in Asia in accordance with the Chinese aesthetic standards.

    "Our market positioning is mainly based on Beijing customers.

    Some brands in Paris will appear in Beijing stores, but we will also seek more Asian brands.

    In short, this shop is tailor-made for Beijing customers. "


    He told reporters that after entering the Xidan business district, Lord Buddha will launch a series of brand promotion activities throughout the year to promote the brand of Xidan's Lafayette department store.
