In 1992, the Art Department of Academy of Fine Arts in Zhejiang set up a fashion design major. At this time, Wu Haiyan had learned three-dimensional cutting abroad, and her brilliance started here.

At the end of 1992, the China clothing and Clothing Institute held the first national costume design and painting competition. Wu Haiyan sent the "ancient feelings", which perfectly integrated national customs, fashion and personality, and won the first prize.

In 2000, Wu Haiyan set up "Wu Haiyan textile and Garments Co., Ltd." in Beijing.

In December 2001, China International Fashion Week was held at the 798 workshop in Beijing.
