The data from the Wenzhou inspection and Quarantine Bureau showed that the export price of shoes and clothing products increased significantly in Wenzhou in the first quarter of this year. The unit price of footwear increased by 14.7% compared with the same period last year, and the price of clothing increased by 24.2% over the same period.

Wenzhou inspection and Quarantine Bureau responsible person believes that the rise in unit price is mainly affected by labor and raw materials.

According to statistics, the average price of footwear exported to our city in the first quarter was US $4.94, and the average price of garments exported was US $3.75, of which the average price of knitted garments increased by nearly 50% compared with the same period last year.

Overall, the export of shoes and clothing products in Wenzhou in the first quarter was gratifying, and the footwear products exported by inspection were 163 million pairs or 804 million US dollars, up 8.4% and 24.3% respectively from the same period last year. The total number of clothing products was 1122 batches and 50 million 341 thousand and 600 US dollars, up 0.4% and 18.3% respectively over the same period.

Among them, foreign customers have great influence on the export growth of shoes and clothing products in Wenzhou. For example, the largest customer of Wenzhou footwear products is German Deichmann company, whose procurement volume is close to 10% of the total shoe exports in the city.

The traditional and emerging markets of shoes and clothing exported in our city were not bad in the first quarter.

Taking shoes as an example, Wenzhou has maintained a good momentum of development in exports to the European Union, the United States, Russia, Croatia, South Africa, Japan and other countries and regions.

In addition, the export of footwear to ASEAN, Chile and Peru has been growing rapidly, thanks to tariff relief policies, especially for Chile and Peru.

Reporters learned that the number of export enterprises in footwear industry increased significantly in the first quarter.

According to statistics, there are 952 footwear export enterprises in the first quarter, an increase of 148 over last year, an increase of 18% over the same period last year.

In the garment industry, 94 enterprises exporting machine woven garments increased by 92% compared with the same period last year, and 30 enterprises exported knitted garments increased by 114% even compared with the same period last year.
