The reason is very simple. Since the EU imposed a high anti-dumping duty on Chinese leather shoes in 2006, the competitiveness of Chinese products has dropped significantly, and many EU market orders have been pferred to Indonesia, Vietnam and other countries. After the cancellation of this policy, the competitiveness of Chinese products in the EU market is bound to increase.

Provincial Commerce Department official told reporters that compared to Fujian, Zhejiang, Guangdong and other coastal provinces, the EU abolished the high anti-dumping duties on leather shoes, the footwear industry in our province has benefited little in the short term, because the export footwear products of our province are mainly concentrated on sports shoes, while export oriented shoe manufacturing enterprises are relatively few.

However, the European Union is a huge market. The cancellation of anti-dumping duties means that the market obstacles of enterprises are removed. This also provides opportunities for the upgrading of footwear industry and the pfer of coastal industries in our province.

Shanggao County, one of the shoe industry bases in our province, told reporters that a number of leather shoes enterprises will be put into production this year. The total investment of 60 million dollars will be 13 million pairs in the year. The enterprise can benefit from the EU's policy of cancelling anti-dumping duties.

However, customs officials in Nanchang remind that the EU's suspension of anti-dumping duties does not mean that they have abandoned trade barriers and may take other measures to restrict the entry of Chinese footwear products in the future.

The shoemaking industry in our province is at the bottom of the international industrial division. At present, it only stays in the lower value-added "processing plant" stage to earn low processing costs, and export more with the way of OEM. The proportion of middle and high grade shoes and private brands is very small. It is necessary to resist the risks from the international market, and only extend to the upstream of the industrial chain.
