As of 2009, the county's added value of animal husbandry reached 420 million yuan, and the animal husbandry accounted for 27.8% of the per capita net income of farmers.

According to the measurement and evaluation in 2009, the average yield of Shanbei White Cashmere Goat increased by 150 grams per year, and the annual income of raising sheep was 3 million yuan.

Since 2006, the county has set up 8 sheep raising cooperatives and 8 pig breeding cooperatives, and has established a "company + cooperative + peasant household" business model. 10 private enterprises in the county have invested in the livestock industry, totaling more than 2000 yuan, and 10 large and medium-sized farms have been built, thus promoting the pformation of production and operation mode.
