Closing Of The First Islamabad Fashion Week
In January 30th, the first Islamabad fashion week closed successfully in Pakistan.
The 4 day fashion week attracted more than 20 designers from Pakistan, including the United Kingdom, India, Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Malaysia.
Kamran Sani, the marketing director of fashion week, said that despite the grim security situation in Pakistan, they have successfully held several fashion weeks in Karachi and Lahore since 2008. The first fashion week in Islamabad is of great historic significance to the Pakistan fashion industry.
Pakistan people love fashion, and Islamabad is also a fashionable city.
In recent years, a number of talented designers and fashion models have sprung up in Islamabad. Most of the 90 models in this fashion week come from the locality.
Many models are very professional and are superior to international models.
In addition, careful observation shows that many costumes of this fashion week combine some ethnic and ancient elements with modern fashion and have their own characteristics.
This is especially evident in accessories. Some ancient Egyptian style headwear and Muslim women's headscarves are well integrated into the costume design, attracting the attention of fashion people from all over the world.
Amina Gohar, a stage director from New York, told reporters that the designers who participated in the fashion week brought unique design themes, and the new talent designers and senior designers presented each other, which is a highlight of this fashion week.
The chief consultant of this fashion week is Tariq Amin, a famous fashion designer who has worked in Pakistan for 25 years, and his wife, Ezza Amin.
Faiza Amin said: "I have confidence in the future of Pakistan's fashion industry. I believe that the rise of this industry in Pakistan will play a positive role in promoting trade and boosting the economy."
At the opening ceremony of the first Islamabad fashion week, Pakistan President Zardari and Premier Gilani sent congratulatory letters respectively, saying that such fashion activities will help improve Pakistan's international image, promote foreign investment and textile exports, and help Pakistan increase employment, alleviate poverty and eliminate terrorism.
