Since 1990s, the state people's Commission has held the national costume performance competition and the national costume design competition, which has done a lot of preliminary work to promote the national dress culture of the whole country.

Since twenty-first Century, the state people's Commission has devoted special efforts to the research, production, performance, publicity and promotion of Tujia costumes, and has achieved remarkable results.

Organize the study of Tujia costumes.

In May 2007, the State Civil Affairs Commission established the national costume Association of the National Research Institute of nationalities, and widely gathered people from all walks of life in the state to engage in the study of national costume, and actively carried out the investigation and study of Tujia costumes.

In December of the same year, the National Institute of ethnic studies held Tujia costume seminars to carry out academic discussions on Tujia costumes.

Since 2008, the State Ethnic Research Institute has conducted a thematic study of Tujia costumes. It has published the articles on "the nationality and times of Tujia costumes", "the contemporary changes of Tujia costumes", "the cultural connotation of Tujia costumes", and the commentary on the study of Tujia costumes in recent years.

In 2003, the state people's delegation appointed a special person to Xiangxi to investigate Tujia costumes, and organized experts to develop Tujia "Dahongpao".

In 2007, the State Ethnic Research Institute and some ethnic costume manufacturers jointly developed the "Tujia flower" dress.

In the same year, the state people's Commission and some ethnic costume manufacturers jointly developed eight series and more than 150 sets of family costumes including teachers' clothing, student costumes, civil servants' clothing, tour guide costumes, taxi drivers' costumes, hotel etiquette costumes, and Tujia daily wear and wedding, holiday costumes, etc., and jointly held Tujia dress exhibition activities with the Career Technical College in Enshi in August 19th.

Strengthen publicity for Tujia costumes.

In 2008, the state people's Commission made full use of the achievements of Tujia dress exhibition activities, edited and published the "West Hubei nationality and Tujia costumes", and publicize and promote Tujia costumes systematically.

In 2010, the state people's Commission and the Enshi daily jointly launched the national costumes column. They concentrated propaganda on Tujia costumes and organized some ethnic culture experts to publish in the column "Tujia costume historical investigation", "Tujia costumes status survey", "Tujia costumes Development Trend", "Tujia costumes cultural change", "Tujia people need uniform dress symbol" and other articles, which made a comprehensive and systematic introduction to Tujia costumes, and put forward countermeasures and suggestions for standardizing and promoting Tujia costumes.

Strengthen the promotion of national costumes.

In recent years, the state people's Commission has made full use of the national culture to enter the campus, into hotels, restaurants and other platforms, and actively advocated the promotion of national costumes in ethnic schools and hotels, and used it as an important quantitative index for assessing this work.

As early as 5 years ago, the state people's Commission made national costumes one of the "five one" projects in ethnic schools, promoting ethnic costumes in some ethnic schools in the state, and striving for every ethnic minority student to have a set of national costumes.

In recent years, the state people's commission is still one of the important contents of national costume as a national culture into the campus and into hotels and restaurants, and promotes ethnic costumes in some ethnic schools and hotels.

Carry out the design of Tujia costumes.

Since September 2010, the state people's Commission has carried out the design work of Tujia costumes by collecting the design of Tujia costumes and organizing expert evaluation in the whole state.

This activity has collected 76 sets of design schemes, including 70 sets of finished products and 6 sets of design drawings, which can be divided into two categories and 10 subcategories in daily wear and costumes. The participants are representatives of some ethnic costume manufacturers in the state, national costume designers, and ethnic costumes designers in Xi'an and Yichang, laying the foundation for the next development of our representative Tujia costumes.

The Tujia costume forum will be held.

On the afternoon of May 28, 2010, the state people's Commission held a forum on Tujia costumes.

Some NPC deputies, CPPCC members, ethnic cultural research experts and heads of national costume manufacturers, as well as State Sports Bureau, State Tourism Commission and other units were invited to attend the meeting to discuss the standardization and unification of Tujia costume in our state.

Tujia costumes must be accepted by the Tujia people.

Since the reform and opening up, with the increasing flow of ethnic groups and more close ethnic cultural exchanges, the Tujia clothing has become more and more marginalized.

On the one hand, the traditional costumes of the Tujia nationality are on the verge of vanishing and gradually away from people's horizons. On the other hand, the Tujia modern costumes emerge as the times require. Besides being used in stage, hotels and tourist attractions, they do not really enter the daily life of the Tujia people, and lack a deep mass foundation.

This means that all the modern ethnic costumes that have been developed in the state are not universally accepted by the masses of Tujia people. It is hard to say that they are real Tujia costumes.

It is undeniable that these garments inherit some elements of the traditional costumes of the Tujia nationality, absorbing some elements of modern fashion, and making beneficial explorations in the combination of nationality and times.

The development of representative Tujia costumes should play the guiding role of the government, the guiding role of experts and the active role of national costume manufacturers, as well as giving play to the main role of the masses.

Since the masses are the main body of culture, we should ensure and respect the cultural status of the masses.

This requires us to find the elements of dress design from the daily life of Tujia people, so as to preserve the national character, and to find the elements of costume design from the realistic cultural needs of the Tujia people, so as to embody the times. Only in this way can we have a deep mass foundation and help to play the main role of the Tujia people in the dress culture of our nation.

Only in this way can we develop the national costume accepted and inherited by the Tujia people.

It is a gradual process to standardize and standardize Tujia costumes throughout the state.

Tujia costumes need uniform norms. They are not only the objective needs of Tujia costumes themselves, but also the realistic choice of the development of ecological culture tourism in our prefecture.

However, the uniform standard of Tujia dress in our state is not achieved overnight, and needs a gradual process.

Since the change of soil and flow, the dress of Tujia nationality has been changing, and the trend of Sinicization is becoming more and more obvious.

In recent years, the Tujia costume in our state has been constantly innovating, with different styles, colors and cultural connotations. It is difficult to form representative Tujia costumes.

The above two factors make it difficult for us to standardize the dress of Tujia Nationality in a short time.

Our aim is to build a platform for all walks of life to make full use of the theoretical knowledge of ethnic cultural experts and the practical experience of national costume manufacturers. We have widely listened to the suggestions of the social circles on the dress of Tujia people. On this basis, we have developed the representative Tujia costumes of our state so as to make them gradually unified, standardized and popularized.
