Syria and France discussed ways to use French technology to upgrade the competitiveness of Syria's textile industry and benefit from it.

At the Syria France symposium held on Tuesday, Rashard, Assistant Minister of industry, said that the symposium presented the most advanced French technology in the textile industry.

Rashard said: "we discussed the latest method of upgrading Syria's textile industry, enhancing the competitiveness of its products and achieving international standards."

The French ambassador's economic counsellor, Mr Siwei, stressed the importance of the symposium, which took place after the signing of the agreement framework by the ministers of industry of Syria and France recently, with the aim of raising experience and starting to understand these latest technologies.
