    1/3 of the production required.

Yi textile enterprises produce 150 thousand tons of cotton per year and need to import annually.

    cotton

    100 thousand tons.

    Supplement:

Iran is a big textile country in the Middle East. At present, there are about 280 thousand textile workers in Iran.

The textile base in Iran is mainly distributed in Isfahan, Azad, and AZ Shiraz provinces.

There are more than 262 spinning factories in Iran, with a total of about 1 million 810 thousand spindles of various types of spinning machines, producing about 287 thousand tons of yarn each year, and 165 textile factories, producing 208 thousand tons of various kinds of yarns each year, 620 million knitted fabric knitted fabrics, 295 woven woven carpet factories, and 1100 woven woven carpet machines, producing 47 million 110 thousand square meters of woven carpet every year, 135 families of woven carpet factories, and 6000 blankets of various kinds of blanket looms, producing more than ten thousand blankets each year.

At present, the demand for cotton in Iran is about 150 thousand tons per year.

In the past, cotton production in Iran was basically self-sufficient, and there was even a surplus in cotton harvest.

But in recent years, because of the annual inflation rate of around 25% in Iran, the price of producer goods has risen sharply, the cost of cotton planting has also increased, and the price of cotton has been low. In addition, the government has not subsidized the farmers who planted cotton, thus affecting the cotton seed's polarity, planting area and production.

At present, the annual output of cotton is about 70 thousand tons, and the rest of the cotton needs to be imported.

In 2008, in order to make up for the shortage of raw materials in the textile industry, the government of Iran reduced the import tariff of cotton from 10% to 4%, which alleviated the demand of cotton textile enterprises to cotton and reduced the cost of production enterprises to a certain extent.

In addition to cotton, other textile materials used in Iran include three kinds of fibers, such as acrylic fiber, polyester fiber and viscose fiber.

The three fibers produced in Iran can basically meet the needs.

According to the information released by the Iran Textile Industry Bureau in September, textile enterprises in Iran have encountered unprecedented difficulties this year. Nearly 1/3 of the textile enterprises have been forced to shut down or are in a semi shutdown state. The reasons are not only affected by the economic crisis and the lack of liquidity, but also the large number of textile exporting countries that have entered the Iran market through normal or abnormal channels, which has caused a great impact on Iran's textiles.

There are about 2 garment enterprises in Iran, all of them are private enterprises, with about 350 thousand employees.

The vast majority of garment enterprises belong to the tailor workshop, which employs about 5 people.

There are only a few garment enterprises with hundreds of people on the scale, mainly engaged in garment export enterprises.

At present, the clothing produced by Iran clothing enterprises can only meet 40% of the domestic market, and other garments are dependent on imports.

Because of the high labor cost in Iran and the monotonous style of textile fabrics and the lack of competitiveness, some garment manufacturers have stopped making their own clothing in recent years, and have gone to Turkey or China to carry out OEM production, and then used their traditional sales channels to sell in Iran.

(two) exports of textiles and garments in Iran

Iran used to be a big textile producer in the Persian Gulf region.

Iran used to classify textile and carpet products in two categories when they were statistically textiles.

At present, there are about 1 million 200 thousand employees including carpet weaving personnel.

Persian carpet weaving technology is exquisite, beautiful design, colorful, long history and well-known, deeply loved by the people of many countries, many exquisite carpets have been collected as treasures.

But in recent years, Iran has been affected by the rising price of textile raw materials and the increase of labor production costs, coupled with the economic sanctions imposed by western countries on Iran. Iran's traditional export market of carpet has gradually shrunk, and the number and amount of export of carpet has been declining.

At the same time, textile exports are also due to rising production costs, backward technology and equipment, single style, high quality and high price and lack of international competitiveness.

Below are statistics on textiles and carpets and garments exported from Iran in the past three years.

Over the past 30 years, due to the competition and rents of cheap foreign goods, many garment factories in central Manhattan have been closed down or reduced, and the clothing merchants are more willing to shift production lines and job opportunities overseas to reduce the number of jobs in the fashion area to less than 10 thousand.
