    The seminar was held in Shanghai apricot science and Technology Library in June 17th.

    The seminar was hosted by Donghua University, and academicians such as Ji Guo, Yu Mingfang, Sun Jinliang and Jiang Shiwei were executive chairmen and presided over the meeting.

    More than 40 representatives from famous scholars, experts and business representatives from the domestic and foreign fields of textile chemical fiber and biological materials participated in the seminar.

    The representative of Xu Mingzhi, President of Donghua University, welcomed the guests from afar.

    Zhang Lina, Professor of Wuhan University, Chen Hongzhang, a researcher at the Institute of process engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Sun Gang, University of California at Davis, made a keynote speech.


    The experts, through the in-depth study of the development trend of biomass fiber and biochemical raw materials, the basic scientific problems and key technologies of biomass fiber raw material preparation, and the key technologies of high efficiency green processing engineering of biomass fiber, have condensed major scientific and technological problems, and constructed a platform for scientific and technological innovation, which is a combination of production, teaching and research, and interdisciplinary. It provides a reference for the layout of the national efficient green biomass fiber engineering technology; develops new biomass fiber materials for the replacement of oil resources, and establishes new industrialization technologies and their integrated strategies and suggestions around the new system to promote the development and upgrading of the Bio Industry in the chemical fiber industry, and further promote the implementation of the sustainable development strategy of the textile and chemical fiber industry.


    The 150th academic seminar of Oriental Science and Technology Forum, hosted by the State Key Laboratory of fiber material modification, was held in Shanghai Huxing science and Technology Library from 16 to 18.

    Nearly 50 experts from universities, research institutes and enterprises in the United States, Singapore and China have conducted in-depth discussions on the theme "biomass fiber and biochemical raw materials".

    Chinese Academy of Engineering academician Ji Guobiao, Yu Mingfang, Sun Jinliang, Jiang Shicheng and Professor Sun Gang of University of California at Davis are the executive chairmen of the conference.

    Xu Mingzhi, President of our school, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.


    The conference focused on the ecological preparation of biomass fiber raw materials, the new high-efficiency green molding process of biomass fibers, the development and application of new biomass fibers and products, the necessity and prospects of biomass fiber development, and the scientific, technological and industrial problems faced in the development process.

    Professor Sun Gang made a report entitled "the application of natural polymers and natural chemicals in textile processing".

    Chen Hongzhang, a researcher at the Institute of process engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, made a report entitled "research progress in process engineering of textile fiber raw materials".

    Professor Wang Huaping, a material College of our university, made a report entitled "the development and trend of bio nanofibers".

    In addition, Professor Zhang Lina from Wuhan University, Professor Yang Yiqi from University of Nebraska, Professor Cheng Bowen from Tianjin University of Technology, Professor Ge Ling of the western research center of the United States Department of agriculture, Prof. Xia Yanzhi, Professor Andy Lau, Professor Zhang Jianchun, Professor of high tech / major general, Professor Liu Xiangyang, and Research Fellow of the Institute of chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Prof. Yang, professor and professor of our institute, also expounded their respective views and suggestions on the research and development trend of cellulose fiber, marine biomass fiber, hemp fiber, biodiesel production technology, and the development and industrialization prospect of biomass fiber in China.

    At the meeting, the experts reached the following consensus through excellent reports and heated discussions.


    "Biomass fiber" will become the main direction of the development of the textile industry in the future. Experts say that due to the shortage of global petroleum resources, as the world's largest producer of chemical fiber, the output of chemical fiber will be more and more restricted. In order to meet the market demand, there must be corresponding alternative resources to meet the needs of production development and consumption growth.

    Under such circumstances, the economy of renewable and degradable new chemical fiber materials that can replace oil will become increasingly apparent. The rapid development of green fibers and materials based on biomass engineering technology will become the new trend of leading the development of chemical fiber industry.


    Experts also said that in the future development of biomass fiber will achieve "effective utilization of resources," "technology friendly environment", "flexible and diverse products".

    "Biomass fiber and bio chemical raw materials" is a major topic closely linked to the national strategic objectives and in line with the long-term development needs of the country. It will become the main direction of the textile industry development for a long time in the future.

    The study of biomass fiber should focus on the combination of production, teaching and research, and take the road of sustainable development. Experts say that the research of domestic biomass fiber, especially cellulose fiber, has certain characteristics. Some of them are at the international advanced level. It is suggested that we should vigorously promote the combination of production, study and research in future research, and make overall plans from raw materials, development and utilization of products.


    Some experts suggest that based on the actual conditions of China, we should study the industrialization and diversify the development of biomass energy.

    Not only should we make use of some mature biomass energy technologies such as viscose fiber for industrial production, but also we need to try to develop new methods and technologies, develop biomass energy technology in many ways, enhance competitiveness, and practically solve the pformation of science and engineering.


    Experts also said that in the process of developing biomass fiber, we should introduce full life cycle research to carry out a comprehensive assessment of energy, economic and ecological environmental effects, and ensure the healthy and sustainable development of biomass energy.

    At the same time, it is suggested that the state should define and detect the "biomass fiber and biochemical raw materials" in the strategic layout of new energy development, implement policy support and priority development strategy in the layout of industrial development, and achieve industrialization as soon as possible, and get international certification.


    Experts stressed that the key to developing biomass fiber is to achieve the convergence of raw material selection and sustainable production, the convergence of related technologies with existing devices, and the convergence of products and application markets.

    On the basis of comprehensive utilization of biochemical raw materials, the pretreatment process of biomass resources and the process of manufacturing chemical fibers were studied. A chemical conversion system of biomass converted mainly from natural cellulose raw materials was established, and the development of high performance biomass fibers was realized to provide support for industrialization.


    Experts also said that the basic research on developing biomass fiber and biochemical raw materials required multidisciplinary cooperation. This technology is bound to take the road of integration. It is an innovative opportunity for China's fiber industry and an inevitable strategic choice for the development of science and industry.

    The research on biomass fiber resources and pretreatment technology, new biomass fiber technology and new biochemical synthetic fiber technology must be vigorously carried out.
