The EU provides preferential policies for tariff free access to the EU market for 41 least developed countries (LDCs), Nepal.

According to experts, Nepalese clothing exports to Europe are quite stable compared with exports to the United States.
Data show that Nepalese clothing exports to Europe increased by more than 20%, while exports to the United States were negligible.

Prior to this, Nepalese clothing exports to the United States accounted for 90% of Nepalese clothing exports, exports to Europe accounted for only 10%.

The tariff free policy offered by Europe will expire in 2010, so the Nepali clothing association wrote a letter calling for the extension of this preferential measure for two years.
Nepal has been enjoying this offer since 2004, and the EU's preferential policies are updated every two years.
