How To Retain Employees
In the Analects of Confucius, Ren fourth: Confucius said, "gentlemen cherish the virtues, villains cherish the earth, gentlemen cherish the punishment, and villains cherish hues."
The Analects of Confucius is often quoted by officials in film and television dramas as an official's self-cultivation language or a criterion for evaluating officials.
But there are several ways to express this paragraph.

Morality
They refuse to abandon, and always ask themselves whether they conform to the moral standard. The two explanations seem somewhat different, but in fact they mean something.

Confucian
According to the school of thought, if we want to be a good manager, our culture is essential. Only when our thinking and spirit reach "realm of knowledge", can we achieve our own attitude of "sincerity and sincerity" before we can seek to "cultivate oneself and live together", and finally achieve our vision of "ruling the country and the whole world".
Therefore, "Virtue" is the highest ethical realm they pursue, that is, the social ethics of maximizing the happiness of the people.
Here, Confucius assumes that if a manager in a high position is a gentleman of good moral cultivation, he will be able to claim himself and make national laws in a moral way by grasping the power of state apparatus.
In this way, the people under his control can feel the benevolence of the manager, feel the justice and fairness of the managers, and be convinced of the various rulings of the managers, and are naturally willing to live and work in peace and contentment.
As an organization, the manager of an enterprise is in possession of the trust and power entrusted by the organization. If the members of the organization can feel that the rewards and punishment system of the enterprise is imperative, and that the harmonious relationship and happiness of the organization will be realized, then how can the members of the organization think over the whole day whether they should change jobs or jump there?

But if the manager is a villain, he will use power to satisfy his selfish desires, and regard organizational rules as rubber bands and gangs. In the end, only the members of the organization vote with their feet and leave the organization.
The restriction of morality is too flexible, which is not conducive to promotion. It needs to maintain social ethics by law.
Both hands must be caught, both hands should be hardened, so as to raise the cost of violating social ethics.
Confucius always believed that moral restraint was fundamental and could restrain his thoughts and actions from the heart of man, and then enforce the law to further restrain people's behavior so as to achieve a harmonious society.
If we abandon moral education or dilute moral education and constantly emphasize the function of system and law, we will put the cart before the horse and lead to confusion and disorganization.
If a lawyer loses his morals, the law is only a tool for making money in his eyes; if a doctor loses his morals, the health of his patients will become a doll of profiteering; if enterprises lose their morals, they will become unscrupulous.
Through constant and even overcorrection, Confucius emphasized the role of morality. It foresees the consequences of human being's loss after the law loses its moral foundation.
