The fifth meeting of the 137 Technical Committee of the Organizing Committee (hereinafter referred to as the fifth meeting of ISO/TC137) was held in Beijing in from June 7 to 8, 2010. This is the first time that the conference has been held in China, which indicates that China's footwear industry is playing an increasingly important role in the world stage.

The conference was sponsored by the international standardization organization ISO/TC137, CO sponsored by the National Standardization Management Committee and the China leather and footwear industry research institute.

D. (Germany) and professor of Czech University (5).

China has 21 representatives from the national footwear Standardization Technical Committee, the China leather and footwear industry research institute, the China Leather Association, the Shanghai Guoxue shoe last limited company, Lining, AOKANG, Kangnai, Luyi and other shoe enterprises attended the meeting.

Yang Chengjie, President of the Industrial Research Institute, delivered a speech at the meeting.

Subsequently, according to the agenda of the meeting, Mr. ISO/TC137 President Wilson read out the minutes of the last meeting, and organized the representatives of the conference representatives to discuss the views of the representatives collected before the ISO/TS 19407 (shoe conversion tables) and ISO/TS19408 (terminology and definitions) standards.

The ISO/TS 19407 standard is combined in the world shoe number and the Chinese shoe number in the world shoe number, and the table 3 is checked with table 2. The ISO/TS 19408 adds the shortest foot length value and the average foot length value. The difference between the shoe last measurement methods of various countries is clearly defined, and the Chinese shoe last measurement method is added by ISO/TC19409.

After finishing the technical specifications, the delegates will be invited again in July, and then enter the DIS voting stage.

The meeting also decided to convene the next technical committee meeting in Germany on -12 November 10, 2010.

At the welcome dinner in June 7th, Yang Li, vice chairman of the China Light Industry Federation, Wang Li, director of the National Standardization Management Committee, vice president Cao Zhenlei of China Light Industry Group Corporation, and Wei Ya Fei, director of shoe making office of China Leather Association, attended the celebration.

After the June 8th meeting, ISO/TC137 members visited Beijing's the Imperial Palace and the Great Wall, and appreciated Chinese traditional culture. Then they went to Wenzhou to investigate AOKANG, Luyi and other enterprises to understand the development of China's footwear industry.

The successful convening of the ISO/TC137 conference is an important breakthrough in China's international footwear standardization.

As far as the conference itself is concerned, we should pay attention to three aspects: purpose, content and significance.

First, the purpose of the conference is to establish an international standard, guide enterprise production, and serve consumers better.

For example, ISO/TS19407 provides two sets of shoes number standard, table 1 when consumers buy products reference, table 2 is more technical, more precise, for enterprises to use.

Two, although the content of the conference is serious, the atmosphere is lively.

We are not talking about armchair, but seeking truth from facts.

During the discussion of ISO/TS19408, the terminology and definition were discussed. When interpreting the "foot length", the difference between the Chinese and foreign representatives in the measurement method would be different from those of the 1mm. The delegates were rigorous and realistic, and demonstrated with the commonly used feet measuring device in China. Finally, the definition of "foot length" was added.

Three, the views of the representative of China are fully respected and adopted.

When the representative of China speaks, chairman Mike and Dr. Monika Richter will listen carefully and discuss them.

For example, the ISO/TS 19407 standard Chinese shoe number is incorporated into the world shoe number column, and ISO/TC19409 adds the Chinese shoe last measurement method to perfect the standard.

As ISO/TC137 chairman MIke said, "China plays a vital role in the development of the TC137 standard, which will benefit the future development of the global footwear industry." ISO/TC137 Secretary General Alexis said: "this is a meeting that all the meetings of ISO/TC137 can not surpass. She supports China's application for the ISO/TC137 Secretariat's proposal and expects ISO/TC137 to grow stronger in China.
