According to the statistics of the State General Administration of customs, the import and export trade of sewing machinery and parts in China in the first quarter of 2010 totaled US $374 million, up 48% over the same period last year.

Among them, exports amounted to US $297 million, an increase of 33.04% over the same period last year, the first increase since the 12 consecutive month of decline in January 2009, with an import volume of US $77 million, an increase of 115.93% over the same period last year, the first increase since the 5 consecutive decline in 2005.

Export growth confirms industry rebound

The export of industrial sewing machines pformed from the "dragging hind legs" of the previous two years to the "leader" of the first quarter, and became the main force to promote the rapid growth of the total export volume of the industry. The export of the hot embroidery machines showed a two digit decline this year due to the shrinking demand in India.

Industrial machinery: step out

In the first quarter of this year, China's industrial sewing machine exports showed an obvious rebound trend.

In 1-3, China exported 580 thousand industrial sewing machines, an increase of 63.30% over the same period last year, with an export volume of US $132 million, an increase of 80.48% over the same period last year, accounting for nearly half of the total export volume of China's sewing machinery products.

At the same time, the growth rate of industrial sewing machine exports increased year-on-year.

As a result, the export of industrial sewing machines in China has ended the downturn in the past two years, and has become the main force in promoting the export growth of the industry.

From the point of view of the major countries and regions in the export of industrial sewing machines, the demand for industrial machines in various countries in the regional market has shown a large growth trend.

In the first quarter, China's exports of sewing machinery products to major garment producing countries such as Brazil, India, Egypt and other major manufacturers increased substantially, especially in Brazil and Egypt, where exports grew by more than 100%.

It is worth noting that Singapore, as an entrepot market, has increased imports from China because of the growing demand for sewing machinery products in various countries, and its value growth has reached over 170%.

Embroidery machine: India's demand is declining and rising

In the first quarter of this year, China's embroidery machines exported 7196 units, down 24.21% compared with the same period last year, and exported 52 million 980 thousand US dollars, down 24.89% from the same period last year.

India has been the main export market for embroidery machines in China. In the first quarter of 2009, India accounted for nearly 7 of China's embroidery machine export market share.

However, compared with the 2009 embroidery machine market, this year's market is going to be a lot more cold than India.

Due to the excessive and rapid release of market demand in India in 2009, the market frigid period also came faster and more obvious than usual.

In the 1-3 month of this year, the number of India exported to China's embroidery machine decreased by 62.11% compared with the same period last year, the amount decreased by 66.25% compared with the same period last year, and the market size contracted by nearly half. The share of China's embroidery machine exports also dropped to 31.68%, and the export of embroidery machines suffered a heavy setback.

On the other hand, Pakistan, Indonesia, Brazil, Mexico, Thailand and other international markets have shown a new growth trend in the demand for embroidery machines due to the development of domestic economy and the new requirements of clothing and home textile production.

In the 1-3 month of this year, China's export volume of embroidery machines in these areas increased by more than 100%, and the growth potential is worth paying close attention to.

Home appliances: export benefits and international economic recovery

With the gradual extinction of the impact of the international financial crisis, the economies of various countries have shown different degrees of recovery growth.

In the United States, Europe and other developed countries, the purchase amount of all kinds of household products is also increasing with the economic growth, driving the growth of domestic sewing machines, especially the export of multifunctional household sewing machines.

In the first quarter of this year, China imported nearly 50 million US dollars of sewing machinery products from Japan, an increase of 136.93% over the same period last year.

At the same time, China's imports from Germany, Italy, Vietnam and other countries are all above 100% year-on-year increase, and imports from all regions and products are growing in an all-round way.
