WAL-MART Plans To Increase The Number Of Stores In Chicago Within 5 Years
Eastern time on June 21, 2010, as part of the long-term plan "ChicagoCommunityInvestmentPartnership", WAL-MART department store Limited (NYSE:WMT) announced that it will work with Chicago to build dozens of stores in the next five years, adding about 12000 jobs.
This cooperation project will help increase food supply and stimulate local economic development, including the following five main elements:
There are dozens of stores of different sizes in the city.
Nearly 10000 staff positions and 2000 trade union organizations have been provided for the construction work to increase the unemployment rate in the city (14%).
Create over $500 million in sales and property taxes.
To provide a good salary for WAL-MART staff in Chicago.
Developing a $20 million charitable partnership in the city to eradicate hunger, curb youth violence and improve the quality of life of all Chicago residents.
