American Experts Say Raw Cotton Is A Better Oil Absorbing Material.

Ramkumar Seshadri, an associate professor of nonwovens at the TIEHH School of human health, said that in order not to let oil flow into the Gulf, millions of feet of oil have been laid out, but the synthetic materials are used, which do not degrade, and the oil absorption rate is only 1/3 of raw cotton.

Ramkumar's research focuses on the development of value-added materials using nonwoven materials and nanotechnology.
He supervised non-woven fabrics and advanced materials laboratories at TIEHH.
He was the inventor of several nonwoven cotton technologies, including FibertectTM, which now uses the technology he invented.
He and his graduate group are studying how to use low quality cotton in clothing production.
Ramkumar said: the American nonwovens industry has excellent technology to develop natural fiber absorbent liners, such as cotton.
