Women Workers In Shoe Factories Are Suffering From "Occupational Diseases".

The test report showed that the crown gas resin (powder glue) detected the "hexane" in the volatile gas. This batch of adhesives containing hexane has been sealed.

She found the company to reflect, but has not responded, still work as usual. Last May, she became a serious illness and was admitted to the provincial occupational disease prevention and treatment center. After diagnosis, what she most worried about has become a reality. During this period, the company paid for her medical expenses intermittently. 228 days in hospital, Cai Xuezhen was discharged at the end of last year. In January 4th of this year, Cai Xuezhen was diagnosed with occupational chronic mild n-hexane poisoning after being diagnosed by the Quanzhou Municipal Center for disease control. In February 2nd, Quanzhou labor and Social Security Bureau identified it as work-related injury.

Cai Xuezhen is exactly the same as the other 4 women workers in the company. They are Li Hongmei, Zhang Fengqiong, Zhang Zhi Wu and Xiao Yan. They got the appraisal report as early as last year, but the company refused to accept the conclusion. After the appeal, the provincial occupational disease diagnosis and appraisal committee was finally identified and confirmed. The company is only willing to pay 800 yuan per month (100 yuan for rent allowance) for their living expenses.

Not pay by arbitration

5 women workers submitted their arbitration applications to the Huian labor dispute arbitration committee in April of this year. In May 20th, the Huian labor dispute arbitration commission decided separately to require the company to pay wages for suspension, pay for meals, spanportation expenses and so on. It is especially mentioned that the standard of living expenses of 800 yuan per month is too low and should be paid at the standard of 2000 yuan per month. But the company did not pay wages according to this standard, and the 5 women workers recently received the April salary, which is still 800 yuan per person. In desperation, 5 women workers turned to the Quanzhou Federation of trade unions, and the two general trade unions of Quanzhou and Huian respectively provided legal aid to 5 women workers.

At present, the court of Huian county has formally accepted the appeal of 5 women workers. Cai Xuezhen's opening time is scheduled for early July. The demands of the 5 women workers are mainly working compensation and later medical expenses, which amount to more than ten million yuan.
