Tibet Footwear Products Increased Substantially

According to customs statistics of Lhasa, from 1 to March, the total value of Tibet's imports and exports was US $175 million, an increase of 142% over the same period last year. Among them, exports amounted to 142 million US dollars, an increase of 115%; imports of US $33 million, surged by 418%, and trade surplus of US $109 million.

According to the director of Lhasa customs, due to the huge increase in traffic capacity after the renovation of the Sino Nigerian highway, Tibet's small frontier trade imports and exports maintained a high growth rate in the first quarter of this year, an increase of 126%. Among them, the export growth rate reached 128%, which has become an important driving force for the growth of export trade. In the first quarter of this year, the general import volume of Tibet was up to US $32 million 280 thousand, an increase of 466.78%, which is the main reason for the large increase in import volume in Tibet.

The official said that in the first quarter of this year, there were nearly 1000 kinds of import and export commodities in Tibet, and the import was still dominated by mechanical and electrical products, but the commodity structure changed from excavators to the import liquid production equipment in the past few years. In the first 3 months, imports of various types of mechanical and electrical products accounted for us $33 million 60 thousand, accounting for 99% of total imports, surging 439.2%, and the first 20 imported products were electromechanical products. Exports are still dominated by textiles, footwear and agricultural products. Textiles are still the main driving force for the substantial growth of export trade. From 1 to March, the total value of textiles exported was 59 million 510 thousand US dollars, an increase of 149.7%.
