Common Terms For Plastics Processing Failures
1. Under injection
In plastic processing, due to the cavity filling is not satisfactory, resulting in incomplete plastic parts incomplete appearance.
2. Spillway
During molding process, the residual parts of plastic parts are retained between the gaps between the mold faces.
3. Weld mark
A linear mark on the surface of the plastic part is made up of several streams in injection or extrusion. The melt is not fully fused at the interface and can not fuse into each other, resulting in fusion imprinting, which affects the appearance quality and mechanical properties of the plastic parts.
4. Wave mark.
Due to the improper flow of molten material in the mold cavity, the shape of the plastic sheet can produce uneven, uneven shape.
5. Surface cloudiness.
Refers to the cracks on the surface of the plastic parts and the resulting breakage. It is known as stress cracking due to the long or repeated application of stress which is lower than the mechanical properties of plastics, causing cracks in the outside or inside of plastic parts. The phenomenon of sudden complete rupture due to the constant load acting on a plastic part at certain temperatures is known as stress rupture, and cracks and cracks occurring at excessive temperatures exposed to certain thermoplastic parts are called thermal stress cracking.
6. Fracturing
By means of the resin layer covered by the surface, visible cracks in laminated or several layers of reinforcing material can be seen.
7, wrinkle crack
A defect on the surface of a laminated plastic surface resulting in breakage and obvious separation.
8, wrinkle
Appearance defects of creases or wrinkles on one or more surfaces of plastic parts.
9. Cracking and whitening
The more obvious micro cracks produced on the surface of the plastic parts are called cracks, and the frost like micro cracks similar to the cracks are called albinism, and cracking and albinism are fine cracks without cracks. When plastic parts are exposed to certain chemical environment or under stress conditions, environmental stress cracking will occur.
10, silver thread
Needle like silver and white like frost lines on the surface of plastic parts along the direction of material flow.
11, stripe
A linear stripe defect on the surface or inside of a plastic part.
12, stripes
Due to the dispersion or poor mixing of pigment and other reasons, the surface defects of mica sheet are caused by the defects.
13, orange peel pattern
Uneven surface defects on the surface of plastic parts such as orange peel.
14, bubble stripe
Refers to the bubble layer in foam plastics, which differs greatly from its intrinsic pore structure.
