New Regulations On Textiles And Clothing
Recently, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission CPSC announced the new regulations for importing textile and clothing products in the US market, and set up a "technical barrier" threshold for the export of China's textile and garment enterprises. Shantou inspection and Quarantine Department reminded export textile and garment enterprises to take corresponding measures to minimize the possible export impact of the new technical barriers to trade.
The new regulations require all textile and clothing products exported to the US market to be implemented in February 2009. The products CPSC which do not meet the safety regulations will be thoroughly destroyed. If an enterprise is found to be irregularities, it will be fined $15 million. The new law has also strengthened the safety management of Baby Garments, including the quality of fabrics, rope quality and other decorations. It is stipulated that goods exported to the United States must be certified by the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation Organization (ILAC) recognized by a recognized organization or laboratory.
Since the beginning of this year, the developed countries in Europe and the United States have been increasing the technical barriers to trade in China's textile and garment industry. They are increasingly demanding in terms of safety, hygiene, environmental protection and anti fraud. For this reason, the inspection and quarantine department reminds the export textile and garment enterprises, first, we should understand the latest regulations of the international market as soon as possible, especially the export of American textiles, which require more attention to the mandatory standard requirements for safety performance. Two, we must strictly register and register the main raw and auxiliary materials for production, strictly monitor the production of key raw materials and auxiliary materials, strictly organize the production according to the importing countries or technical regulations and standards, make sure that the raw materials and auxiliary materials are not put into production, the unqualified products do not go out, and the export risks are avoided to the maximum extent; three, we are actively exploring diversified markets, dispersing the risks of export, actively conducting overseas market research, and vigorously developing new emerging market countries with low technical barriers while consolidating the traditional export market.
